Namari's clay crafts

hello! this is just for fun, while i do sell my creations, this post is not really for that. mostly im looking for opinions on what to make, or how i did on a certain critter. constructive criticism is appreciated, mindless hate such as "your stuff is ugly' is not. be kind to each other please!

~update. pictures resized and new pictures added! probably not going to put more up for a few days at least.

the octopus! an idea from deebles, and turned out decently for my first attempt at one. there are 8 legs, the others are hidden behind the body more.

and turtles! my latest batch, ignore my hand, they were baked just a little bit prior and the sheet i cook them on is very reflective. the lighter parts, like the head, fins/legs, and pattern on the shell all glow. (edit) okay, not going to post glowing picture since my camera does not want to actually take a picture that shows it nicely. they're cute regardless.

Pudgy unicorn pony!

Dragon.

Dolphin -figurine sized (may still add something to it. undecided)

Dolphins- phone charm sized

Lion (base only, unfinished)

Lion cub/adolescent (base only, unfinished)

Ermine (base only, unfinished)

Penguin phone charm.

Vermilion Flycatcher magnet

Ghosts! glow in the dark, turning these cuties into a pair of earrings.

Looks good.

Ever considered Making Ponies? You could make quite a bit selling those. xD

These are fantastic, I love them, have you possibly ever suggested creating bigger models? Since it's clay you can create a wire frame and build around that for more structure? It's just a thought since it could expand your horizons and improve the clear skill you already have! :)
Keep up the great work.

Thanks much!

yes i have considered doing larger scale work, though honestly i've yet to grasp the details of muscles and such. plus i've noticed the larger i make my work, the worse it looks to me. so i have a bad habit of s****ping it. really, my specialty is in smaller works, and that's fine by me. another part or my reasons is i do hope that eventually i can make and sell enough to start cutting back hours at my ****py job. or at least supplement enough extra cash with these that im not living off ramen. smaller works i can price lower and still make a good profit even considering the time i put into them, larger works would have to have higher prices, and people tend to be less willing to pay more for something big.

That all just comes with experience and time, they say to become a master of something you need to put 10,000 hours of conscious effort into it. Whether or not that's true is another story but you get the concept behind it. Anyways like I said, these look fantastic and they're small enough to craft in a timely fashion and well with the skill you have. If you prefer smaller works, then I would stick with what you enjoy if it's working for you.
That said I'll stick with my guns and suggest possibly diversifying, even if you just do one or two larger pieces on the side for pure experience and practice. That said I really don't know the craft and your mind like your own self!
Let's hope it takes off and you can earn enough whilst enjoying what you do. :)

sorry for vanishing. i have made some new stuff, mostly little dolphins in cool swirly colors as phone charms, but i've just been dealing with some other stuff too. got on some new medication lately and it's sort of kicking my butt. so we'll see how things go, and if i get enough motivation to post some pictures of the unbaked dolphins. haven't even really been on minecraft much lately. no promises on a timeframe, just thought i'd let you all know i haven't died.
