Hey fellow Noobs,

I'm proud to announce that Skyside (/t spawn skyside) is recruiting new members to be part of the Skyside North Plaza. This is the first "window" in which we're opening admissions to the public. We plan to expand the town in phases, so after our North Plaza phase completes, we won't be adding new residents to the town for a period of time.


This is the kind of stuff we build.

What we're doing here is something very unique as far as towns go. We're not just admitting you, setting you up with a plot, and letting you be. That's not the Skyside way. We're a town with a huge emphasis on community - friendships with each other, cooperation to build huge things - and generally we're all about people who have a can-do spirit and like to have fun.

If you're looking to join a town with those qualities, keep reading - otherwise, feel free to check out some of the other towns on the server!

The North Plaza project is something that gives you the chance to be part of a community from the get-go. We will be recruiting up to 10 players, and all of you will be formally added to the town at the same time. Together, you will all build the Skyside North Plaza - a 5 plot by 5 plot square that will be the location of your future homes. You will be responsible for gathering the resources, planning all aspects of the design, and working out what you want to do for the plaza centerpiece as a team.

The North Plaza project will proceed with these steps:

1) Recruitment and Selection of the North Plaza Class
2) Building the Plaza framework as a team
3) Building the Plaza centerpiece as a team
4) Allocating House Plots among everyone in the Plaza Class
5) Building your houses, and becoming full residents of Skyside in the process!

Joining Skyside is for people who want to go all in, and have a really deep and rewarding experience with Noobscraft. If you're interested in being part of this select group, post a reply to this thread answering these following questions. Qualified applicants will be admitted first-come, first-serve in the order they replied to this thread!

What is your favorite thing about Minecraft?

I love the openness of it.  I'm a big fan of roleplaying, RTS base building type game, and sim games and minecraft seems to be a wonderful combination of that.  Also the modular nature of it makes the possibilities of it endless, which is exciting to me.  I love to build bases and be creative and Minecraft gives me a world to take on a role and experience my creativity in a unique way.

Why do you want to be a part of Skyside?

Skyside makes my mouth water.  The combination of carefully planned architecture with aesthetic pleasantness is wonderful to me.  It's the embodiment of my favorite minecraft aspects: the ability to create beautiful things painstakingly thru planning and inspiration.

What sort of team experience do you have in life or in video games?

I've been part of a guild of people who play MMO's for some years now.  I've had bouts of playing WoW for years at a time, and I tend to go all-out when it comes to finding a game with a large amount of depth and creative freedom. 

In life, I play dungeons & dragons on a weekly basis at a local comic shop, which involves building relationships with strangers and creative roleplaying in a public setting.  Before I moved to California recently I would play DnD with my IRL friends several times per week, in both player roles and Dungeon Master roles.

Even in my gaming infancy, with games like Subspace: Continuum, I would get heavily involved with community based gaming.  In Subspace I owned and created a server for some time in which I managed a staff of moderators and developers to create content for myself and others to enjoy.

Please visit my home in the wild for an example.  I do not think a screenshot will do my foresight and attention to detail justice.  I am new to minecraft but I think my wild home shows the potential I have for extreme creativity in the game.

As a person who believes that, in games like Minecraft, community is the strongest aspect and driving force, I would do my utmost to make the town the best it can possibly be.

Just the fact that you can do pretty much anything in it and have fun at the same time!

Why do you want to be a part of Skyside?
I hope to have fun and make new friends and have a great experience.

What sort of team experience do you have in life or in video games?
Building, cooperation, etc.

1i just enjoy the thought that goes into building cool innovative ideas
2I want to be a part of something that is big, but I also like that there are many things to do
3 well right now I am working with a group of 6 to build a very stable place to work as a party to gain levels
4 I'm ranked # 17 overall on the server i when the severs just opened I had got all the way up to 8th
5 i would like to make the city the town that everyone knows and likes

What is your favorite thing about Minecraft?
I love the beauty of Minecraft and the endless of possibilities in building and survival. Having a team or group of friends and building something and the feeling you get when you finish a project is amazing.
Why do you want to be a part of Skyside?
Everyone is nice, not unsociable people, citizens have extended help to me as I get back into minecraft and in addition I love the stupendous designs that the citizens of Skyside have built and not only on the ground but, in the air! I find that amazing.
What sort of team experience do you have in life or in video games?
I have been involved with Military Simulation groups in the game of ArmA 2 and 3 for a few years and mil-sim teams require extreme teamwork to accomplish goals. I also fly virtual aircraft on an online service called VATSIM. This requires dedication to learn the works of a jumbo jet as VATSIM is basically real life except on a flight simulator.

What sort of team experience do you have in life or in video games? - I like teamwork, but it's hard to find so I usually play solo.

If you are admitted, do you promise to give your best effort in making our town and our community an awesome place to live and visit? I do, I play from 1-5 hours per day so I'll be pretty active & committed.

(Also my cousin would like to join, he's Miguelito2o9. He also plays a lot and is trustworthy)

Because i believe that i could make some really good works there, if allowed to

What sort of team experience do you have in life or in video games?
Not that much team experience IRL, but i was a LoL-gamer for a while and i am currently going through Smite, so MOBA-games are covered

No screenshots available, but if you want to see my credentials, go to the V5-museum and go to Empire, then go to the coast and look BELOW the sea. then feel free to explore what was made through 1 hour a day for a month

my best effort? no. my VERY best? DAMN yes

ADDITIONAL INFO: if i am allowed to join, id love to make a "underground" railway for the town(tough job, considering the fact that the town is floating :P). All I'll need are the materials.

What is your favorite thing about Minecraft?
   I love brewing potions and sharing them (or selling them) in servers. They are really beautiful liquids and have many effects that are really OP. I also favor the biomes the minecraft creators made. They are very beautiful.
Why do you want to be a part of Skyside?
   Skyside is like my dream come true. I love islands because they radiate beauty in a different way. I also want to know my neighbor instead of being complete strangers while living next door. (Because that’s what is happening in my town right now.)
What sort of team experience do you have in life or in video games?
   I play Sheep Quest in the Mineplex server and I am proud to say that my team lost only 6 games while playing.  (I played a total of 30 games there!)

   I specialize in tiny one room houses (I’ve only been in Minecraft for quite a short time) But I can build things when I put my mind into them and have enough building materials and time. I will send you a screenshot in the earliest convinence.

   Yes I do! After all, this is a once in a lifetime experience! Suffice to say, I won’t be getting a chance like this anytime soon. (or never.)

My favorite thing about Minecraft is to just have fun and meet new people. I'm not competitive or wanting nothing but the prize. I'm here to enjoy myself.

Why do you want to be a part of Skyside?

I enjoy the feeling of knowing I live in the sky. It's something I've always dreamed. So, I thought it would be cool to do that.

What sort of team experience do you have in life or in video games?

I play a lot of team based games. (GMod, TF2, CoD, BattleField) I really only like team based games.

I don't really have an example because I just got a new computer. But, I promise. If you give me a subject/idea. I will do my best to make it.

I would love to make others have a huge smile on their face when they join the town. Not only to make them happy. but to make them want to stay on the server.

I enjoying having a fun, strong community, I like being able to go beyond reach and beable to achieve amazing structures in Minecraft. I enjoy the endless builds you can think of and having a great time with a small community. These are some of the reasons I joined Noobscraft. Once I found out they had towny too I tried to seek out a nice town. I red the post and seen that is exactly what I want from a small community. It would be amazing if I did have a chance to get picked for a chance to build for your town.

Why do you want to be a part of Skyside?
I want to be part of this community because it's everything I want in a town. It's nice to hear that you all help each other out and that's something I'm also looking for. I also like the creations your guys have built and I think I could be at use with helping you expand on North Plaza and future structures

What sort of team experience do you have in life or in video games?
I have great communication skills as well as leadership skills, I also know how to get along with people which is huge when it comes to building structures in minecraft. With those skills I think I could help out a lot. I also play CSS and CSGO competitively which is a really big team based game and Heroic Raiding in WoW on a weekly basis with my guild.
