Automatic Farms
« on: 29 Nov 2015, 17:10:23 »
Okay so Ive looked it up and in past forms Ive heard that Automatic farms are ok as long as your not finding ways to bypass the afk kicker. Does this still hold true since Ive heard from other people that Automation farms are okay but have to be activated with a button you press.

(Exsample) So it comes down to is a completely cactus automation farm collected from a hopper allowed or does it have to be a button pushed piston activated farm?

Anything is allowed, any way is allowed as long as again, you're not bypassing the afk kick.

It's also worth mentioning that the server has a tiny amount of lag at all times. Not enough for a player to notice, but enough to foil an intricate redstone clock and piston system for harvesting. This is just inherent to online play.

So small scale testing is recommended before you make a megafarm and realize it's too complicated.

Awesome! Thanks guys!

Also are there any farms that do not work before I try some? Like Iron Golem farm (idk how id do that) auto cobble, tree farms, etc...

I don't think iron farms work but I believe most normal crops work.

Auto cobble doesn't work for the very reason i mentioned above.

However an application of redstone and pistons which is cycled manually would work. Clocks just get out of sync with pistons because a few milliseconds of lag can amount to a tick or two, and that builds up etc.

Auto ones do work, you just have to increase the repeater delay by a ton. I think I only got mine working with at least five repeaters all on max delay.

Sorry for the late response from me.

You are allowed to make farms which activate on a timer or with redstone however that may be. You aren't allowed however to have these farms running while you are AFK; whether cheating or not (anything which defeats being kicked isn't allowed; farm or not). If you're not actually active when near them you shouldn't have them.

The exception to them being allowed is anything which abuses mechanics within the game that are clearly bugs or don't work as intended or fairly. If you're unsure about specifics please contact me and we can discuss them.
