HAve I done something...
« on: 25 Mar 2015, 21:20:05 »
Since the 4th year party, I feel like I have been ignored more and more, When I talk in general chat, I just get completely ignore, for instance, today I got on, I went to ask in General chat if anyone could repair my pickaxe, waited a few minutes...nothing... asked again... nothing, I even said hi to a few people... totally ignored... Now I have not done anything to anyone that I know of. Is it my age? I didn't think age made a difference, I'm not some old geezer lol I haven't made any "old guy" advances on anyone on this server. Just wondering what the deal is?

I'm positive it was just a case of bad timing on the message, people were probably busy doing something. This community does not discriminate against age or anything like that, we look out for one another and everyone is welcome with open arms - I hope you are aware of that! - You're very welcome here at Noobstown and I'm sad you feel like this, I hope you find better luck later today or another with the repairing.

Hey there, Tweeks.

Sometimes, people get focused on what their doing and will ignore the chat.  Other times, players will not have what you're looking for, or may not know how to respond to you in chat.  You shouldn't take silence as anything personal or offensive.  Most likely everyone else is busy with other things and just don't think to chat.

As for your age, I don't think that matters at all as we have ages from 8-52 (highest I know of) that play on here.  Again, it's likely just a case of people being focused on other things or not knowing how to respond to what you're asking.  Just give it some time and don't think that everyone is ignoring you as a personal thing, it's just something that happens from time to time on the server.  This is especially true on x2 weekends cause everyone is grinding :)

If you ever see me online and need something or just want to chat, feel free to send me a pm.

Hi there,

I'm awfully sorry to hear this, however, I'm sure that it is nothing to do with your age, but some players don't feel like talking to others (which is fine) and are often busy playing the game themselves.
I can tell you, I sometimes miss players messages when I'm busy, but I'm only human! And I'm 100% sure that we can extend this to all other players :D

One of the most fundamental aspects of our server is that it is 'family-friendly', I'm sure you've heard this phrase mentioned before. What we mean by this is that Noobstown is suitable for people of all ages of 'the family', that is to say, children, teenagers, adults &c.

I'm positive that a lot of people would agree with me when I say that your age does not matter and we want you to have an enjoyable game experience at Noobstown regardless of your age or any other characteristic like this. I think that this is one of those issues where people might have been busy, I very much doubt that they would dislike you/ignore you simply because of your age, and even so, those people would not be welcome here.

Once again, I am profoundly sorry that you have suffered this experience and I can assure you (knowing people of multifarious ages on the server) that we do not judge based on your age. So too, if you see myself or other staff online, feel free to speak to us, we are always happy to speak but you must excuse late replies as we are usually quite busy! :)

At the end of the day, people can choose who they want to speak to or whether they want to speak at all and I'm sure that you'd agree that this is extremely fair; we all have those moments where we just want a little quiet time.

I definitely am guilty of not responding when I don't have anything the person wants, otherwise I kind of feel like I'm just spamming if I go "Nope, don't have that" or that I'm disappointing the person because I can't help them with what they want.

A lot of the time I get intently focused on what I'm doing, especially if I'm building or grinding a skill, and I don't even respond to my roommate trying to talk to me even when she's sitting on the couch beside me... Haha, so it's probably not that people are ignoring you!

Have you tried PMing your friends on the server? Usually if I'm really distracted I don't even read the chat as it pops up, but if it's a pinkish message like the PM does it gets my attention and makes me look at it. Could be the same for those people.

I can guarantee you it has nothing to do with age. If you ever need anything in game please don't hesitate to message me. We have a very wonderful family friendly community here. You'll always have a few sour grapes but majority of the time everyone is super friendly and helpful. As others have said some get into what they're doing and stop paying attention to chat or some may just not have what you need or want what you're selling, nothing personal. :)

If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

A reason that some people didn't reply to you also could have just been because they didn't have a high enough skill level to be able to help you.

Each time I am on and you msg or poke and I notice, I repair your pick, at no cost, for just a diamond with each tool. I have no reason to ignore you. I also don't care about your race, gender or age. The chat simply is quiet a lot of times, people talk in private or in local. Trust me, I get a hello, but beyond that nobody asks me how my day is, they just want something from me.  :) It's how things are online usually.

You aren't ignored, its just that its most likely when they are caught up on something they are doing. I felt the same when I entered noobstown it isn't being ignored. Sure there's probably someone to help you but they just might not have the time :3 but I guess they might not be able to respond back. Hope you change how u feel.

Like everyone has said it's just timing.
The community is very tight so it has nothing to do with your age or who you are or anything about you.
If I was high enough repair, I would fix it for you but unfortunately I cant.
