So water if we have put in a mod application that is that the same now as if we posted on the new thread for prefect?

I'm not Water, but you need to post a new prefect application, prefect is the base to be a mod so you can only be promoted from prefect to be a mod. The old applications are a refrence.

and also how many prefects is he going to pick?

He will probably pick a few people from each time zone, so that it's moderated 24/7. And when a prefect gets promoted to moderator, he may hire more for that certain time zone I guess.

I'm also not Water, but since much of our player base is in North America, we can likely expect to see around 8 non-admin staff members for those time zones (2-ish per). In addition he's likely looking at 2 or 3 more outside of the states, mainly UK/Euro and maybe Aus/Pacific.

I am Water, therefore I can give you some information on this :)
The old moderator applications are just for my reference, for example if I want to see if a person has made an application to be a Moderator before, for whatever reason.
As Magic said, you will have to reapply using the new application if you want to be a prefect, however any old applications can contribute to your chances of becoming a prefect.
I have picked four prefects so far, and maybe 3-4 more in the future depending on how many people are promoted to Moderator. I am hoping to have a staff team with about 8-10 Moderators and 3-4 prefects, this will make it easier on the staff because there is more people to provide support and help moderate the chat etc, and if a Moderator needs to take some time off for whatever reason, a prefect could step in and cover the Moderator's timezone.
I will be updating you guys on the prefect thread with the timezones that are un-staffed or under-staffed, don't worry :)

Just out of curiosity, will prefects get a title/color, like mods, supporters, ect?

:D u and GG are prefects! I already knew jack would be and im not that surprised about aqw...hes been a mod before.
