Today I will discuss the key ways in which you will be able to earn money in the Version 6.0 of Noobstown.
A key way of growing as a player and developing your character on this server is gaining money. Money will enable you to use our player based Auction house, purchase land, buy items and also create towns, nations and outposts.
So, you might be asking... how can I earn money?
Well, there are luckily lots of options... they are as followed:
- Selling items to other players via our Auction
- Selling Noobstown Gems (Traded to villagers and players)
- Killing Monsters and Animals
- Playing Mini Games and Slot machines/Casino
- By completing jobs for players via the job system
- Taking part in Events and Competitions
- Entering the Lottery
- Voting for the server each day
- Completing Quests
Auction System
To get started with our Auction system visit this link:
- LINK HERE SOON
Noobstown Item Currency
What are Noobstown gems? How are they obtained?
Noobstown gems are our specific item based currency, these gems allow you to trade with Villagers around town for items. These can also be used for player based trading on the Auction House.
Noobstown gems are obtained via a command. The gems will have a base price of 500 Noobz and can be traded for a variety of items and blocks.
Killing Monsters and Animals
The most straight forward way of earning money on Noobstown. Each time you kill an Animal or Monster you will be rewarded a small amount of Noobz. You do not gain rewards from spawner mobs.
Events and Competitions
By visiting our Automated Events and Games world you will be able to part-take in Events to earn Noobz. You may also alternatively visit our Casino to play on the slot machines. You may also attend official Events and Competitions in which you will be given the opportunity to earn Noobz.
Completing player driven Jobs
Players are able to create jobs/task which other players may accept. To complete these jobs you must gather all items/block required. Upon completion the items/blocks will be transferred to the employer and the employee will be paid.
Entering the Lottery
Each day there will be a Lottery, in order to take part you must first purchase a ticket. Once purchased you will then be eligible for the Jackpot. (Jackpot = the amount of tickets sold)
Voting for the server
Every day you may vote for the server. By voting you will earn 500 Noobz. This is the simplest way to gain a sum of money and also support the server.
Completing Quest
By completing Quest you will earn money based rewards.
Good luck on becoming a Noobillionaire!

Pretty awesome that it's more ways to earn money now, I really can't wait for V6, gone be awesome to start over again, cause when you got 5 million Noobz and over 1000 of probably every block/item in the game, it kinda gets a bit boring to play, cause it's no challenge to get anything.
Also, as I would like to ask some questions, not only about the currency but about some other stuff as well.
1) - How much will the price for your starting plot be, and how big will it be.
2) - Will it be done any changes to the prices for VIP, Online shop items etc
3) - If someone buys a plot and want to live far away from others, but then someone else comes and purchase a plot close to them, what can set player do about this?
4) - Will it be possible, when it comes to voting, to vote and get 1 GEM, instead of 500 Noobz? Seeing as they are worth the same thing, making it simpler for does that would just turn it in to a GEM anyways.
5) - Will mobs be able to grief on your purchase plot? Zombies breaking doors, creeper blows, endermen picking up blocks.
6) - Will you be able to config your plot like you can on towny, like enable firespread etc
That is pretty much all I got, some has probably already been answered before, but ill ask them again =p

I have two words: Can't. Wait.
One quick question/concern I have about the wilderness plot force fields: What happens if the areas around spawn are taken and there are unclaimed plots behind them that you can't get to because the force field is keeping you from entering the chunks that are already claimed?
Also, what will Town and Nation prices be?
PS: THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK ON V6, ADMINS. IT LOOKS AMAZING!!!

It sounds like V6 will be tons of fun :) I miss playing on Noobstown so maybe the reset for V6 will give me a fresh new start! The new ideas are amazing, and I can't wait until the release. Admins, thank you for all the hard work you have put into the update :D

Will mob arena still be around in v6? if so will we earn money from the mobs in the mob arena?
-
I think that I'll make most of my money by killing mobs and selling various things, however I am afraid that I may blow away most of my profits at the casinos :P

Mob arena will be around and yes, but we don't plan on releasing the automated games world straight away as that'll require a lot more work. We have plans to release it shortly after v6 though, so defiantly something else to be excited for even after release.

Welp. I suppose it's time to put plans for my secret empire of wealth and power so that I may take over the server... I mean what?
But anyways, good guide, Joe. Time to start voting again since it's the easiest income I'll be getting for the first few weeks of V6.

There is always a blocked (1chunk) gap between chunks, so there is always a way to move through.

So no chunks together that means no big farms :(
What about the town and nation prices for V6?
-
So basically in the wilderness world even if we buy 18 chunks we are still forced to create 16x16 builds? :(

Land is merged when bought and becomes one big space (if connected) by the 1 chunk space between land I meant between another players land. Land that is owned by yourself and is connect WILL be merged as one big space. Sorry for not covering that completely.

Oh cause you were beginning to scare me lol I was thinking "oh my god how can we not have connected chunks?! Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!" Thanks for the clarification though cause I think I would have freaked out otherwise because I can just imagine me being in an extreme hills biome, finding a huge vein of emerald, then realizing its in a restricted chunk XD

Ik I Might be reading this very late but oh well, Its pretty simple... Quests Seem kind of fun, hope theres some good ones when it comes ^_^
I talked to a villager from another Server and it said Accept Decline Quest- Mine 64 Iron ore.
-
Most interesting thing I saw there was the player created job (my opinion obviously). I think this will free up the in game text chatter for people asking for items for so and so noobs.
Good work everybody who worked on V6 and all the plugins.

I don't completely understand the question but if you buy 18 chunks you can decide to buy them in any location you want to as long as they can be bought (the system will force a 1 chunk border from others).
You could have a "chunk corridor" of lenght 18 or any other shape with an area equal to 18 chunks.
In that area you can build anything of any size, there is no 16x16 limit as long as you own connected chunks.
I have a question too :
Is there going to be a /sell command like before that transform items into noobz directly?
I heard there was an idea to let players sell "junk" items (like rotten flesh, sugar, etc) directly to a server shop.
Same thing with wood and food farms: are we required to sell everything to players or can we still sell directly to villagers/server shops?
I like the idea of quests, but denying any form of server shop (as it was in V5) makes life way harder for focused builders I guess (compared to miners/explorers that could do what they like while still gathering money).
PS: Good job on making the info threads sticky :P

So does this mean the /shop command wont work in v6, thats how i sold all my paper from my sugarcane farm. Second if we dont have the shop how will we get money INTO the economy besides killing animals, playing mini games, quests, and/or voting each day for the server.I know it sounds like a lot but I really dont think it would give you much money doing these things. Many of the options to gain money you need to still use money to use. For example selling items, players need to buy them which means they need money, or the casino, You'll most likely need money for that too.
-
Is the money from killing monsters and animals like mineapoc ?

From how I understand it, there will be no /buy or /sell on the server shop. The point is to NOT inflate the server's economy so V6 lasts longer. This will also help player to player trading and help prevent ridiculous buying and selling prices through the server.

Yeah, it sounds to me that there will be no server shop (/buy; /sell). But the player trade auction will be in HUGE use, I'm sure of it. Yeah, you might not get money right away, but if you price it right and work on being fair and gathering things that are in demand, then I'm sure you will do alright in making money. Although unlike the old days of selling 1000's and 1000's of wheat and paper to the server shop, we'll have to find other ways of making money. Trust me though i get it, I used to have like 4 layers of wheat farms just for that purpose.
But it will work a lot more smoothly in the background, because we will be supplying people with items that they actually need and will work so much better than chest shop did in some ways. I feel that will be a huge success.

My question was the same as FlammableCow's one and the doubt raised is valid: how are we going to generate money?
Barters and jobs don't generate money, they just move it around.
So far the only listed way to generate noobz is killing monsters and doing quests (whatever they'll require) and it's a bit limiting in gameplay choices (and time required too).
If your main focus in the game isn't killing stuff and exploring ruins, you won't be able to do much else on your own.
If killing monsters for noobz is not going to inflate the economy neither should farming with the same ratio of effort/gain.

This just came out a couple minutes ago, it will explain that we will have a server shop to sell to and a lot of other stuff with a video.
