First you need:
- A texture pack of your choice
- the latest version of MCPatcher
Run MCPatcher, once the window is open click the "Patch" Button
once the JAR file has been Patched you can place the texture pack in the "texturepacks" folder and select it as any normal texture pack, you can select any other texture pack without patching it again.
You must be using the latest MCPatcher for Beta 1.6

Good place to get textures. If you find one you like and it is an HD pack, there will be a link at the top of the texture pack page to the latest version of MCPatcher.
(why are links so hard to copy and paste from iPhones?)
