5 Minute Idle Time
« on: 23 Mar 2013, 14:25:39 »
This is wayyyyy too short. MYself and many others were booted from the server for patiently for FatNoob to start v6 token events. When we log back in we have lost our chances at being a part of the event. I got punished because I didnt jump up and down for 5 minutes, punished for not joining in on spamming our chat log.

Personally 10 minutes would be good, thats enough time to grab a cup of coffee, take a pee, answer the phone, check the mail etc. Currently 5 minutes is just enough time to cause stress.

Its the little things like this that will deter the dedicated players from.....well......playing.

I agree. I absolutely agree. 5 minutes is way too short. I understand why they have the counter to begin with but 5 minutes is just a little ridiculous. As you said, I can't go to the bathroom without being booted, or go get something to eat or even post a quick forum on the website without begin booted. 10 minutes would be a great amount of time.

So I 100% agree.

I agree with you that it should eb raised

But it only takes 2 seconds to get back into the server, so even if you didn't get kicked out you would of missed the first event anyway

That's exactly what it is. Some players will be watching TV or a movie but still be logged onto the server, it's not fair to other players who are actually playing. But still 5 minutes is a little ridiculous.

I agree that the old idle timer was way too long, but yes. 5 minutes is too short. I can't even browse the noobscraft forums properly without the risk of being kicked for idle. And if you just read the forums for a bit too long, you might miss out on some stuff being said in chat.

This is just done for ingame activity, or else people would AFK like hell, and then they get the rewards off it from v6 tokens, which would be very unfair towards other players.
5 minutes is just right if you ask me.

that's the whole point of them cutting it down but why not 10 minutes? 10 minutes would be perfect. It's not too long and it's not too short. I understand WHY they cut it down it's just why they cut it down so drastically. 5 minutes is not enough time to do anything. Even in-game. If you want to enchant something, don't take too long or you'll be kicked...I knew someone who got booted cause they were organizing their chests and didn't jump up and down in between. It's just a little ridiculous.

I agree on the chest thing, but nothing can be done about it, you can get a inventory mod anyways thats sorts stuff automaticly for you.

I think 10 min would be great.  I mean usually when I am waiting for a event to open I watch tv.  Still,  5 min is a little to small

I can somewhat see where you are coming from, but I believe this will be lifted in v6, right now (This is on my stand-point) As you know we can obtain tokens and a chance for v6 veteran on the v6 tokens page up with the tabs. They lowered it so people couldn't just stand in a room racking up time they have been on their account getting to the top 10 easily. So they lowered it to 5 so it will be fair for everyone else trying to win.

People may just build anti afk machines and such to obtain it but that is against the rules of this, and they will be forced to take it down. (An admin told me that). So this 5 minute idle time is just to make a fair chance for everyone to win. Plus it only takes roughly about 3 seconds to re-login to the server anyways.

You just pointed out my opninion, why complaining about something so small, while relogging takes just a fraction of time.

Sure it's easy to get back onto the server but it is rather annoying. You can't even go to the bathroom without having to worry about being booted. It's just a little ridiculous, it's not about how easy it is to get BACK on the server, it's the idea behind it.

They should make it more like 10mins or 15mins in my opinion, but it isn't really a huge problem just like 2-3 clicks and your back.

Again, it takes you 3 seconds to get back on the server if you been booted :p It isn't a big deal, and I am pretty sure it wont change just cause a few people complain about it.

Got to agree with this!
This is what it was like a year ago then they made it longer, why not now.

Guys, I don't believe the 5 minute idle time will be here permanently, I assume it's so people can stand afk for ages to add online time to their account. I think it's for the whole token system.

Ofcourse it wont be pernament, when v6 gets released it will get back to normal.
If you are active then 5 minutes wont be a problem, and a few seconds to login wont be a problem too right...?
Also 10 minutesis also pretty abuseable.

I agree with you Batuus.
Also, if Fatnoob was to make it to 10 minutes, it would take very very long changing the codings. The time changing the codings to make it into 10 minutes, could be used to make a whole building/ make v6 step better.
So if it's a step better, V6 will come faster. :V

Ehhh... no, it takes the Admin team about 2seconds to change the AFK kick timer... it is just a simple number switch in the server config.

They wont switch it, simple as that, the 5min kick timer is there for a reason, and wont be raised in till V6 is here.

I am interested in this inventory mod to auto sort my inventory. I did not know anything like that was allowed.

Yes. but every admin is busy, and going into the config could take over two seconds.
Login to there host service , takes around few mins , going into there files, finding the codes will take around few minutes (They may have lots of files) and changing the coding may take few minutes too. I'm trying to say that it is a waste of time adding 5 minutes extra. the time they waste, they could of used for improving v6/making it faster to come.
