animal farms

Basically for anyone who wants to make a sheep farm for wool purpose, under the new system of noobstowny anyone can kill your animals that you have for public wool use. In order to repopulate you would have to breed more, there is a five minute breed timer per sheep. If you had 20 sheep thats 100 minutes to repopulate.. who wants to waste their time doing that for someone to be able to kill them a minute later? I suggest adding a kill perm(toggleable) to the animal farm type so that people cant kill your wool farm and save you time!

the animals farming setting allows for anything which relates to animals including: killing, shearing, leading (attaching leads/leashes), dying, egg spawning, etc. If you don't have this set to be allowed then all of those things will not be allowed normally.
In towns^

I think this makes sence

Firstly I appreciate the suggestion it's something which if there is enough demand we could definitely consider but you can already avoid the problem even without this new feature you're suggesting. For example you could:
  • Store a backup of sheep in an area with animal farming off which could then be used in the case that you get someone killing them rather than shearing,
  • Use spawn eggs (although they are rare) you could use some eggs to get a few more sheep to make your breeding faster),
  • Use a spawner itself, these can be purchased in-game using Noobz using /spawners, then there would be literally no issue if people killed or sheared it wouldn't matter,
  • Make use of the 'blocking' feature coming in Noobstowny which would allow you to stop people who abuse your farms from using them again in the future.

I am willing to implement this if there is enough demand, but it really seems like a duplicate feature for something you could already avoid. We'll wait to see how the poll goes. :)

Also just to be slightly overcritical of your 100 minutes for 20 sheep, it would in theory if you were doing it efficiently only take around 45 minutes to get to 20 sheep, and you could dramatically speed that up if you feed them and let them graze. Here's a table explaining how that works (assuming it takes 5 minutes per breeding and 20 minutes for a sheep to grow up) :P:
Minutes inAdult SheepBaby SheepTotal Sheep
0213 (2 adults and the first baby)
522 (bred 1)4
1023 (bred 1)5
1524 (bred 1)6
203 (1 baby has grown up now)4 (1 grew up, but a new one was bred)7
254 (next oldest baby grows up)5 (the 1 baby which grew up has gone, but 2 new ones now made from the new adults)9
305 (next baby grows up)6 (baby grows up but 2 new ones)11
356 (grows up)8 (another baby grows up but 3 made now)14
407 (another one grows up)1118
459 (2 grow up now since we started making 2 per 5 minutes 20 minutes ago)13 (the 11 from 40 minutes less 2 which grew up, but 4 from breeding)22
And it would just get faster and faster as you wanted more.

If anyone has any feedback on the suggestion though please make it, I'd love to know what everyone thinks about it.

I see your points but...
1. say even if you do store more off chunk.. then whats stopping the person from killing the next batch also? and to restock your supply.. oh yeah breeding...45 min waste. and the amount of land required to do compound breeding like your method suggests would be quite a lot. In case others don't know, sheep do not spawn babies if there are more than 2 sheep on the same chunk. To get every sheep to breed would require their own chunk just to breed on. at least 5 or 6 extra chunks just to do your method.

2.spawn eggs? wayyy to expensive to just be killed in 1 sec by someone.

3. Yeah you can use spawners( for them to spawn more you have to transport the sheep out of the area of the spawner) but those do cost a fair bit of money, also dyed sheep don't exactly spawn like that... some dye types so cost a fair bit to make, try cyan for example(smelted cactus +lapiz). If your purpose is a murder farm then by all means go ahead use a spawner but if your purpose is to be practical...

4. how exactly do you propose blocking a person? there is 0 way of finding out who did it unless your actually there watching your sheep 24/7... I don't know about you but I get bored of counting sheep after the first hour. Trying to figure out who did it would just be a waste of time for staff members.

Larry are you being paid off by the crafty's?

It may not seem like it, but I do actually know proper grammar. :)

Your suggestion has now been implemented into the planned changes :D. I have now added a new setting for farming which will allow you to set whether or not killing is allowed, this is separated from the original 'animals' option though, so if you want both shearing and killing of sheep for example you'll need both on. If you just want shearing then just have the animals option on, and if you just want killing then just the killing one.

Effectively I've removed killing from the animals option which it was in before to a new separated 'killing' option.

I've updated the planned changes page to reflect this too: https://www.noobscraft.com/noobstowny/#plot-farming
