Title: Dying to Mobs, and watching a player take your items

So I've died to mobs quite a few times now, but today was really the turning point from acceptable to not ok.
When you die to mobs you drop your stuff. Thats cool, But, Another player can waltz in and take your items. In the real world thats fine cause if you ever see them again you can just shoot an arrow in their knee and take your stuff back. Here. You cant. You just get to see them running around proudly displaying YOUR items.
This does not seem to fit the happy go lucky nature that noobstown is evolving into.
I understand that changing it will indefinately change the element of "survival".
It could use some consideration, it may not.
Thoughts?

IMO taking someone's stuff after they die is at minimum weak and at worst theft.  I say put yourself in that person's shoes and have some compassion.  Guard the dead players loot until they can get back to get it.  It's the honorable and right thing to do.

There are people who are respectable enough to take the items and then ask around "Who died?" intending to give them back. But then that doesn't always mean they give back items that might be useful to them.

If only evidence of the theft can be saved. But the "You Died" screen's view can't be adjusted, so one will have to be lucky and wait for the player to come into view. This "wait" will conflict with the interest of respawning to get back to the death site in time to retrieve the items, so it's still risky.

This might sound rather arrogant, but it seems that "Don't die Natsu!" is the best way to prevent the situation. Therefore,

• Always put on and maintain full diamond armor
• Be ready to insta-tp when health is low (a /t spawn or a safe /home area)
• Always save a hotbar slot for food to keep hunger bar full
• Always save a hotbar slot for an Instant Health or a regenerative item

What hurts more is death by PvP/combat mcMMO glitch, and so,

• Only PvP with people you trust to give them back in case of death

I had one other idea but I will hold my tongue, for now.

Also always carry around a fire resist potion ive walked into lava so many times and lost everything
