Title: Dynamic Minecraft Map
Post by: Myspaceeater on 6 Nov 2012, 23:19:01
I think a Dynamic Minecraft Map would be a great addition to the website, and the server as a whole.  Imagine being able to observe the entire server map from the site in real time!

This was here before.. It was removed because of lag I think.. Didn't always update and now the map is so big it would really lag..

Why does it have to be dynamic? (I'm assuming be dynamic you mean it is continuously updating). The map in your car or an atlas is useful. Some of Google maps photos are years old (in the demo versions) and yet the mountains, hills rivers and lakes are still accurate. Why not have some sort of map that updates daily or weekly? The daily/weekly updates would let you see what has been built, but wouldn't create lag issues. We could download the file and then zoom in and out and examine everything as much as we want.

I miss livemap and i agree with craftymatt13. Map updating weekly or daily  nice solution for who miss livemap. For town arhcitects long time ago i using livemap and today i will use screenshot of the map for future buildings in my town and observe changhes around town.
