Title: /ignore - Ignore TP as well?
Post by: EttaDreamfeather on 8 Feb 2015, 21:25:39
So it's been noted by several people repeatedly that when you use /ignore it pretty much only makes it so that you can't see what the person is posting in the chat. However they're still fully able to send you annoying things such as TP spam or full-out send you a /msg to continue harrasing you if they so wish to. (I forget if the /msg is still possible, will test with Duelcon once he's back from eating.)

Since the whole point of having /ignore is that you don't have to deal with things that are bothering you, at the very least implementing it able to block TP requests from that person would be useful.

Several reasons why TP spam is problematic enough to require this-

If it would be at all possible to implement this I think it would make things easier, as not everyone enjoys being spammed with TPs. ^^

If this occurs, let a staff member know and take screenshots. It's spam and the player ought know that.

Yes, I'm just meaning it can be a problem if:

1, there's no staff online. Which means the player either has to simply deal with the spam or be forced to leave the server because their gameplay has been ruined by a persistent spammer.

2, they have a hard time taking screenshots and then have to be able to send the screenshot to staff. This can be made harder when the person is continually spamming and the person being spammed can barely see any of the chat, in other words can barely communicate with the staff member.

So having a way to avoid this while also reporting the player would be optimal, I think.

If a staff member isn't on, I believe the report a player is still available, here you can include the screenshots. A lot of times also we have more staff members so it seems like there's always at least 1 staff member on, unless it's really late at night when the server is less active. I do see your point though and I will forward this on to the admins to check out.

If you do not wish to open a gift, you can always /gift clear too (which deletes the gift)

How do you know who the gift is from, without going through the collect command? If they offline send it, it's unknown if you even have a gift.

Blocking TPA requests, /gift and other alike commands on people who are on your ignore list would be quite fantastic.

If you were offline, you won't know who the gift is from. Though, If you type /gift collect, it should either pop up with the user name who sent it, or name should be on the chest its self I believe. (You can always throw the gift away after collecting it, and /gift clear, this will still clear the gift, so you are able to receive more and what not, without fully opening it etc.)

No point ignoring a gift, if you have to collect it to find out if you want to ignore it ..

When I said collect, I meant as in /gift collect, this puts the chest in your inventory, not collecting it collecting it, right clicking the chest would be collecting collecting it etc.

If you understand what i'm trying to say?:P

Yes, but it's useless, you *have* to take action to either collect it or clear it. It's as annoying as just dealing with it.

Perhaps, but at least they're a way to check to see who it is from before opening opening it for the time being I guess :P

To be honest, for the time being we can also just close our eyes and pretend we're not getting msgs, tpa requests and useless gifts by the trolls. Just saying. We're posting for a solution, not a bandage.

Well stated. I agree with mrfloris, it would still take action to do all the commands when you could just not receive the gift in the first place.

How can a gift be useless... even dirt has a value.

I know, but having a 'bandage' for the time being is better than having none at all :P

Maybe make a new command

Ex. /tpignore (Username)
Or
/ignore (type) (Username)
(Type) could equal: "Tp" for Tp ignoring, "Chat" for not being able to see their chat, and "Gift" to ignore gifts. And anything else you could think of ignore wise. Or just do /ignore (Username) to just ignore all of it. Tping, Chat, etc.
