Lack of Players
« on: 3 Feb 2018, 21:10:30 »
I just wanted to make this post for my ideas for more players on. I have notised a lot of players during the advent I'm not asking for the extravagant gifts in there but something like 500Nbz gem one day a diamond another and maybe a stack of dirt just so players might want to get on for some extra goodies another. Idea is more events also I'm not asking for some like the noobween or noobmas just like one week when you go mining you have a chance to get like a common head or you kill a shulker and you have a 0.5% chance to get a mending book. Also just curious if any of the mini games work

Some daily returns on rpg gaming would be nice, or maybe a ranking on mob arena ..

the problem with anything is, .. only the active top 5 players will get all the spoils until it's busy.

I've been busy on due to Real Life, Tests (ACTs), etc

I'll be back to daily activity once I get some inspiration again for a new build idea. Pointless to just hang around on the server otherwise.

Not pointless at all :) There's always something to do. Tweak a design, finnish some decoration, build underground sewer system. Connect houses, expand a bigger house with a little shed, add some town occupations or a new dome with a farm.
i can go on :)
my todo list of what we want to do and little things to tweak is only growing.
motivation: that's a killer though :) but when you have 30m to kill and there are ppl online, it's just like a roommate or something - digital company to spend the time and escape real life a little.

Alright, let me rephrase myself. Not pointless, but I have plenty more efficient ways to be spending my time. I have a lot of priorities to do in free time. And without any big build ideas, Minecraft is simply not very high on that priority list. Once I do get a big idea, it will get bumped back up to number 1 again, but revisiting and retweaking my old builds, or continue to mine out my basement is just not the most efficient way to be spending my few hours of free time every day.

All I ever did when I came online really was socialise and build, but because it's become so expensive for my chunks, and 3hours per chunk just ain't cutting it, it was getting increasingly difficult to accomplish my grand ideas! I like to build large builds, and the only other way to do this is with a town, of which there aren't many active ones worth bothering. :(
I frequent a few other servers, of which I won't name of course, and it seems that this one is kinda' behind the times of sorts, which I guess also pushes people away, but that doesn't mean to say the gang behind the server haven't done an amazing job, because they have, just to clarify.
As for the socialising, well people move on and since most of the people I used to speak to on the regular stopped coming on, I too did.
Not to mention I'm just so out of touch with Minecraft now because I've not been around in probably a good year or so.
I regularly check the site to see who's online but there's rarely more than 1/2 members which makes me sad :(
But in retrospect if more people had the same thought process as me now and just stuck it out instead of saying 'another day' then maybe there would be a lot more players frequenting the server. But I do agree, some form of incentive, or something to work towards would be nice, a ranking system of some sort outside of McMMo or something. I dunno man, but I agree. :D

Great arguments, and I agree with some of your points. They're quite valid.
