Hey guys I know I'm new and all but here me out.

So I was thinking that since the server is a towny one and one of the greater ones that I've seen before. Maybe their could be an in-game rank up system. Something to keep the players going while they do their quests and all.

Ranks like Knight, Noble, lord, elder, god so on and so forth or change them as they feel. This allows players to look forward to gaining new kits, ranks, abilities or whatever the admins so choose to put it in.

This is just a suggestion that I thought would really help.

I do like this as an idea to help push people to participate in towns and build communities.

Seconded. But what would be the standard for these ranks? Like is it the amount of people you referred to the town or sth?

I like the idea, but how would they rank up? Would you get it for how long you play like the free wilderness chunks or would you have to pay money for the ranks?

In many players opinions from what I've seen they would use money to rank up, or in some cases even experience points!

That ranking up using money kind of sounds like a server where you just use money to rank up, using money to rank up could create some weird unbalanced economy, because some people have more money than others.

sir_Andrew I understand there could be some complications with the economy but, there could be tampering with the currency for ranks. I.E. Gold, exp, or something like that. Money doesn't have to be the way to earn the ranks.

So for example have something that keeps track of time played (like for chunks) and then average it per week, and if you have an average of above a specific amount of time, you unlock a command or two in game (like echest or something) for the next week or two. However if your average playtime drops below the allotted average time you will lose permission to use the command(s) you get.

Maa maa, that seems like a fantastic idea! But what kind of plugins would do that?

What you're suggesting is literally taking my idea and just changing money into time and ranks into perms. Why wouldn't we just do the idea I suggested. You gain a new rank for earning money, which in return provides players using their time on the server. The perms also will be included inside the new rank.
