Yesterday I found out how to turn on the lights with a flip of a lever. Here is a tutorial:
1:Make a building with a ceiling you can reach comfortably.
2:Get on top of the building you just made. (take redstone with you)
3:Wherever you want the light, destroy that/those blocks.
4:Put redstone leading to the hole.Should look like this
&-hole 0-What your build is made of *-Redstone
000000000000000000
0000000&********00
000000000000000000
5:Now go on the inside and make a hole next to the redstone anywhere.Put a lever on the side of the block so that it is facing away from the redstone.
6:Go on top of the building again, this time place a block atop the hole wher the lever is.
7:In the first hole you made place a redstone lamp.
8:Cover up the redstone lamp and your ready to go!

And once pistons are enabled again, you can add a T-flipFlop-circuit to that and also use a button to switch on/off the light. ;)
-
Or use torches.. Facts from Miner do di da doh! :D
-
Nah, torches aren't good for the enviroment and a firehazard.
-
True, maybe they will light your wood wall on fire! O_O

Well I do want pistons to be activated, and just a little hint, can you tell me how to get pictures from minecraft
so I can post some pics of how it looks?

Hit the F2 key (screencap). Hitting the F1 key would un-display the item bar/chat/GUI so it might go better if you hit F1 then F2. The pictures can be found in the minecraft folder (in Windows, type in %appdata% in the Start Menu, then find the .minecraft folder, then the screenshots folder). :)

Or he could press the print screen button on his keyboard and then ctrl + v it in to something like paint that will allow him to crop it to whatever size he wants it to be :3.

Thank you guys, but I think I will not put up any pics, you will have to build it

Hey Meep (and redstone enthusiasts),
Tonight I made disco lights at my buddy's house in Oceanview. Here's a peek--

I tried to do screenshots for an animation, and here's the best that I can Frankenstein up:

The infinite-loop had to be turned off and on manually, instead of a switch.

Cool! I'm now being hired for 10.00-100,000.00 to build things or contraptions! The price depends on the build or contraption*
