Shop: Seeds
« on: 7 May 2017, 03:38:59 »
I wish that we could sell seeds on the /shop. It we great, because then I can finally get rid of all of the excess seeds I have. Thank you if you implement this and/or read this.

Are you suggesting all of the varieties of seeds or just wheat ones?

Wheat are the ones that tend to pile up, due to their drop rate.  Pumpkins and melons don't produce seeds once planted.

If you're going to add seeds, may I also suggest adding eggs?  They tend to pile up too, and once you've got a double chestful, there's not really much use for them.

You can use the eggs to spawn more baby chickens.. but I do agree it would be useful to be able to sell eggs

Wheat seeds can also be used to green thumb grass onto dirt. You can go through several stacks trying to get a grass block if you don't have the green thumb up, or even if you do.

Eggs are awesome for cakes! Or pie! But I could see how they pile up, too. (I love resources. :D )

Forgot about the green thumb thing.  I generally get my grass blocks via silk touch - much more reliable.

But the chickens I have already produce more eggs than I need, and I get more than enough arrows from dead skellies, and all the cooked chicken I need from around spawn.

Though, if it weren't for the chunk spawning limits, I'd try my hand at one of those fully-automated chicken farms...

I'd buy your eggs from you for a few nbz, if you ever need to dump some. Just remind me to get them! I need more free range organic eggs! :D

Seeds have now been added to /shop under the Farming section. If you think there should be an adjustment to the price then let me know :).

I'll definitely consider eggs, but my concern with them is that you can in theory infinitely farm eggs in a tiny space extremely quickly. Just by putting a large number of chickens on top of a hopper. Compared to seeds which are much more of a pain to get.

How much would you have thought eggs should be sold for?

Well, exactly my problem; my dozen or so chickens make way more eggs than I have space for, in an amazingly short time.  I dunno price.  Cheap is fine, I just hate things going to waste, and would rather get a pittance than throw things away.  This would also help with inventory control on mining world exploration sprees ... I inevitably end up picking up wayward eggs along the way.
