Town World Dungeons & Locations

The Town World, a beautiful place holding some grand towns, but mostly empty and unused custom land.
With this suggestion I am to make the town world more then a place for towns, but a dimension for exploration of this beautiful custom world.
As the name implies the idea is to implement dungeons and locations you can discover in the town world, think of it kind of as an Elder Scrolls game.

So what is the purpose of these dungeons and other locations?
The first thing that comes to mind is quest locations and locations with unique loot, now these places could also be
places with events.

Where will these dungeons and locations be?
Mostly in between already existing towns. locations could be discussed with town owners so they don't conflict with people wanting to build towns somewhere on or near the location of a dungeon.

What will be interesting about these dungeons and locations?
As mentioned before, they can be related to possible quests, but they can also be random loot locations with stronger or a large amount of mobs, because you obviously gotta work for your reward!
Dungeons would include puzzles for example, or some are even teamwork based puzzles that require you to have multiple people, to unlock a gate for example.
This can also include parkour, where you have to reach a location to be able to progress through the dungeon.

So what are these dungeons and locations gonna look like?
Now this depends all the location, now it would be silly to put a sandstone pyramid in the middle of a snowy biome right?
For example, snowy stoney areas could have Nordic style ruins, like you see in Skyrim and deserts could have Egypt like ruins and mazes.

Conclusion:
This will hopefully bring more uses to the town world and make people explore the beautiful lands.
This could also make horses far more useful, because you'd have to travel large distances.

I hope this suggestion will be considered in its form or another.

Would it sort of be like a town's outpost land?

Maa maa, that's an awesome idea! The outlands are awesome, and I was planning to travel that too! (I put it off cause the mobs there are WAY too OP! )

People would be able to abuse the live map to easily find these locations.

It's not really about whether or not you know where it is, its more about the trip to that place.

Batuus, you're a genius.

This needs to be done! I really like the Elder Scrolls comparison. The livemap is already a lot like what you'd see in Skyrim or something, with many different biomes and awesome landmarks, and the towns all dispersed in various places, and the only thing missing is the system of roads and dungeons and stuff.

I think roads between the major towns could go hand in hand with this, much like how in skyrim you can be traveling on the roads and find a dwarven ruin or something, or a bandit camp.

NPC's in the towns could also give quests to go out to some ruin and find something etc. just like mineapoc was, but the town world would keep its current malleability to towns so the dynamic might change.

EDIT: Town dungeons sound cool too, like some secret of the town that can be solved, that ties in with other things or whatever. Like how in Solitude in Skyrim you can enter the blue palace and do the daedric quest, or Markarth's forsworn conspiracy. Riften's thieve's guild, etc.

Town mayors would have to be in on it of course, but it would be a cool way of showcasing your town to the server when otherwise most people would only see their own town and their wild chunks.

Yes, I agree I think it's be cool if there were roads, maybe of different ages, like some roads, or paths just end.  Also, if the roads had a natural path that went around volcanoes and things and had awesome bridges that go over rivers.  There could maybe be random broken wagons or graveyards along some roads, that people may have left there.  I played Elder Scrolls on an Xbox 360 before I really started playing minecraft, and it was so fun I couldn't really stop playing until I messed up the story line and found mostly all of the locations that can show up on the map, and some tat couldn't.

It sounds like this idea is similar to the new Dungeons coming out on Noobstown as the new Mineapoc. I think dungeons are already going to be implemented in a bit and Foob and the team have a lot on their plate already.

Well if you think they are gonna be added anyways, maybe some suggestions what they should be like?
New ideas are always welcome.

Maa maa, wait. How can skyside even fit into this? We're floating above the ocean! Maybe we might need a warp panel or water elevators for that!

When in doubt, use magic as an excuse.

Isn't this already planned for the server merge? That's what I read over at Mineapoc.

Yes I just saw it on the Mineapoc website, well I guess the suggestion of it being in the town world still stands though.
