Take into consideration all kinds of people are selling picks since they added experience drops to virtually everything in the game, not just killing monsters, and dropped the lvl of highest enchant to 30 intead of 50.  If it was a silk touch or something, that would be different.

I'm going to keep the pickaxe.

Im still selling my beacons for 60k each. There in the chest at the front of my shop in spawn.
