I would go with turtle beaches or tritons because depending on the model they can work as both a pc gaming headphone or a console headphone

I personally got a proper sound system, I really dislike Headphones.

My current Sound System I have used for 5 Years, and it has been in use for over 11 Years, and it works like it's new, all I have done is fix it up a bit so the sound quality is as good as new if not better.

With a Sound System the sound goes all the way around your room, which is what I like, I don't like taking of a pair of Headphones and the sound is just gone.

Also, another thing to maybe make you think twice about buying Headphones, a pair of good Headphones can often be up to 200 Dollars +/-, a Sound System if you know where to look is the exact same price, or maybe around 300 Dollars +/-, and for that you get a system that will last for over 8 Years at least, not a pair of Headphones that will break if you accidently drop them.

Also one more thing, Matanatr96, you wont be any more of a Hardcore Gamer if you got some fancier Headphones, you're a hardcore gamer if you're good at Gaming, not cause you got some fancy Headphones.

I use the Turtlebeach P11s, I like them because I can switch between my ps3 and PC rather quickly.

I was literally just about to mention my pair of P11's, and how they broke a week out of the box. :(

Now I just use a 10 dollar pair of iFrogz I got at Walmart. Those broke and now I use the plain old stock apple headphones that you order 8 at a time because you know that you're going to break one every week.

Maybe I am just really really cruel to my headphones?

From experience, you'll be better off buying cheap ones (10€ top, bass boost etc) or really fancy ones (200+, but only if you need professional stuff).

The fact is, no matter how you treat them, thin cables are going to break.

If you need a general purpose mic, buy a decent stand-alone (one with a base):
The mic will never break unless you throw it on the ground and you'll be free to get new hearphones about each 6 months.

Really good headsets have metal casing and cable protection (thicker cables too) but that of course comes at a cost and if you decide to get those, get GOOD ones else you're wasting money.

I used to have Turtle Beaches since the sound quality was great for music and games. I recently got rid of them though because I have gone through four pairs, three P11s and one PX21s, the wires were too long and either tangle like mad or they're heavy enough to pull itself out of it's socket. I was told the plastic that keeps the wires attached in the ear muff was really weak and it's the core to most people's problems with them. The headsets themselves are really good and I don't mean to bash on Turtle Beach, but you'll only have them for a couple months tops unless you're super sensitive and you take very good care of them. I recently went with Cavima.n.u.s' (Got censored -.-) Virtual 7.1 Gaming Headset. The wire isn't annoying and is much easier to untangle. It does make your ears sweat a little because they're cupped with soft padding, but the quality of them overall is pretty good and they're very comfortable. I only paid 42 pounds for them so when these headphones break it's not so much of a problem to replace them since it is only 42 pounds, but when you accidentally break a headset which is around 150 pounds, it's a real kick in the nuts. When it comes to buying things like that, watch video reviews and comparisons so you know exactly what you're buying.

I have currently ordered $400 worth of parts for a new headset. And that's only about 3/4 of the parts.

I currently use the Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pro. Its a really sweet headphone and it isn't that expensive. It has a really nice response curve with good base but not punchy. Great mids, good treble and great highs. It's a bit on the heavy side but they are really comfortable. I recommend them 9/10 times when you have the money for it. They are €229.99 over here. So chose wisely
