Seriously what is with all these strange Japanese music videos (no offense if you are Japanese) they are so weird to watch and to me the text makes no sense :p

I hope the Japanese people got some better music then this or I feel really sorry for them, seriously xD

If you are talking about subtitles, meaning of text is lost in translation. Those whom are multilingual would understand how that works out. No one word can directly translate to another. Once it comes to complex lyrics that are expected to fit the same meter, rhyme, and enunciation of a song, things can never turn out perfect. But if you are talking about the characters, of course, its a different language.

Anyway, there is nothing wrong with their culture. People in other countries can find western hypocritical ideals and behaviors taboo as well. If you were raised to believe in a particular religion, it can be part of your culture that someone else may criticize as weird. To assume that all Japanese people enjoy a particular sect of music because a fanatical group made a music video is misguided. Every person has their own personal tastes, and the reason why these seemingly uncanny videos are so "popular" is probably because of the rest of the world sharing and gawking at it.

EDIT: I'm not Japanese.

I dunno about these videos. I still think  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jTmMU6sMgM#ws Is probably the strangest since it wasn't trying to be strange. It was released in 1979, before the internet showcased weird, before MTV (the real MTV that played music all the time) and before VCRs were common (I saw it in the theater). It's 1.5 hrs long, so it isn't really a video. It required an attention span.  ;) For shorter videos, there's this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcmgI_kgPhM#  Give it till about 1:30. It's not fast paced, just weird in its concept and delivery. Enjoy!

I like Pete Drake, but man, there's something strange about this video.

The truest 'heavy metal' band evar?

Warning: Pixelated gore.

It's easy to forget that this is a really sad song, with this really strange video.

He-Man was so... Fabulous!

There's at least a dozen more 'strange music videos' that come to mind but not many that are all-ages appropriate.  If you insist on seeing them, best to send me a message.

Man, all of Die Antwoord's videos make me kinda uneasy... <3 The Ponponpon videos though XD  And I've gotta back CraftyMatt up on the Pink Floyd video.  The Wall is a great visual art performance, and definitely worth a watch if you've not seen it before.  Best enjoyed in a dark room on a big screen - it'll really draw you in.
