Missing Ya'll

As some of you have noticed my time on Noobstown has lowered, drastically. Some of you also know I am disabled and typing is very difficult on my hands. Mainly my thumbs, both of which have no cartilage left in the base joint plus have bone spurs pushing on the joint. I've adapted a regular keyboard as best I can, however even an hour caused extreme pain.

Well, my husband thinks he may have found something to help.

Razer Tartarus Chroma Expert RGB Gaming Keypad with 25 Programmable Keys Including an 8-way Thumb-pad https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZTRW00C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_WTQnxbD4RX7JS

The only problem, other than cost, is you may notice it doesn't have a keyboard for chatting. I can program minecraft commands (I hope, someone in the comments said they use it to play minecraft) such as /home into the buttons. So chatting would have to be entirely through TeamSpeak or Skype. Don't worry, you don't have to talk! I can talk and if you want you can just listen and respond in the regular chat, that's how San57x100 and I do it and it works just fine. Unless you're not listening to me then San just looks crazy! LOL 😂

I still try to play on good hand days. No idea when I will have it, or how long it will take to program it.

Just thought I would let everyone know I'm not dead! You can find me on Skype under the same name as Noobstown, MeriLizzie.

Hope to see/talk to everyone soon!

Thanks DJ and nice to meet you Pidgeot! I am mainly a late night player so if you play during the day that may be why we haven't met IG. I'm working on setting it up now. Trying to find some YouTube videos on programming it for MC but no luck so far so I guess I'll be winging it! LOL

this is hilarious. I have to update the software on the device that links my new gamepad to an app on my iphone/ipad were I make my actual configs. In order to update it for iOS devices it has to be updated on a Windows computer. Of course every comp in my house is Apple.

Hi Meri!

How are you doing?  I miss you! Hope you are doing well?

I should be back more myself.

Did you get the gaming keypad thingy to work? How is it?

I have a friend that has a nerve cancer & arthritis & other ailments...he can't type & we mostly only talk in skype or another voice system like teamspeak, ventrilo, discord etc.  He does like to play games still & he doesn't want to stop all that, especially since he can't really go out - gaming is his only social contact really.

Sometimes he uses some sort of robotic/sensored glove to game and chat. He just has to move his fingers a little bit & there are sensors in the glove that allows him to tap and it will do things he set up.  I can try to contact him & find out more about it if you like? I think it was kind of spendy though? - I actually don't know where he got it, it might have even been a kickstarter campaign thing or something. I know some things are in the process of being created & made more available to the public.

He also uses a typing stick/typing aid thingy that slides over his palm & secures with velcro and has a thingy with a rubber end that is used to push down on the keys.  He has very limited motion in his fingers so this enables him to still push the keys & chat.  Of course, he can't really type fast with it, but its ok, its still all good since most of us understand & are patient.

Hopefully you are able to get that thingy to work & it will help you some.

Anyways, wanted to say hi - been thinking of you! <3
