Server V4 Biodomes
« on: 6 Jul 2011, 22:50:38 »
I am happy to announce that, coming July 30th (or whenever the server switches worlds), a few residents of Forthwind will be building something (hopefully) never seen on Noobstown before: an entire city encased in biodomes! We have already built a prototype glass dome, which is in front of the Forthwind city gate. The domes will be bigger, of course, to accommodate different buildings and purposes. I will be posting more as this project continues!

Here's what I have planned out so far, however, none of this is final and may be changed later. The town will consist of multiple domes, each in their own "sector" (about 4 for now). There is the main sector, the residential, business, and bio. The main sector will hold the "Main Biodome", which will hold things like the entrance gate and hall, town hall, convention center, gardens, etc. It will also hold the train station. This train station leads to different "sector hubs", which from there lead to individual domes. The residential sector will hold, of all things, homes, and also will hold buildings and different things for the residents. The business sector is obvious as to what it will hold. The Bio sector will hold domes which contain farms and other "bio" stuff.

This itself is a massive task, and will require much more planning. I am open for any suggestions, as I am still trying to figure things out.

btw, I do want the biodomes to be as, for lack of a better word, futuristic as possible. If anybody knows any cool and useful redstone contraptions (or just contraptions, doesn't have to be redstone), please let me know. I already have a very cool gate setup, compliments to Viciousvinny, which we use as the gate in Forthwind.

Epic, you should make them floating domes, then they really would be futuristic.

Are you planning on putting this town under the sea or something?

Most of the domes are going to be on or above ground (haven't decided yet, Geo's proposal is tempting). I may have a couple of the domes built underwater.

It's a really great idea. You should make a go at it.

Isn't it "Have a go at it" not "make a go at it" :D?

And aren't you still in primary school?
So isn't your English only centered around
phrases because you can not form sentences
of your own?  3:)

That works. Or I might say, some people
might think otherwise. But I think you're
pretty on point. You've got the gist.
