why can't I make chiseled blocks? they appear and disappear right before I can place them

I thought chiseled blocks were only able to be found in shafts and stuff? I didn't know they could be crafted! Also, keep in mind the server isn't in 1.8 yet so it may be because of that.

I think your problem is that you are using a 1.8 client Steve! As the blocks are only craftable in 1.8, you will be notified in some way when the server is updated fully to 1.8 though :) Have a nice day buddy
