What's The Story Behind Your Name? (Read 8455 times)

Everybody has a story behind why the username they have is their username.. So, what is the story behind yours?

I'll go first!
When I was 6 years old and got a Webkinz it wanted a username, me being a 6 year old decided to take my name, (Ben) and put it with hi in front of it. (hiben) Then have it be backwards.. (nebih) Pretty simple, but after that it just kind of stuck!

I'm really interested to see how everybody else came up with their usernames, so please share!

I had a Runescape account a few years ago and my in game name was sirBob99876. So when I made a
Minecraft account last year after long thinking I decided to use my Runescape name but use my irl name (Andrew)
Instead of (Bob). Oh and I decided to have the 99876 and the underscore because sirAndrew and sir_Andrew were
user names that other minecraft player owned or were in use. That's how my minecraft user name came to be.

Back ye old 2009, I created the account "Waterworth". Due to many failed attempts at getting James interested in the game, I gave him the account 'Waterworth' to try it out for himself. As he didn't feel it was worth the money. *Cough*

Long_cat's original account name was Noobsbeard hence now my new account involving the name Noob. Therefore out of pure randomness "Fatnoob" was born. Few days later a little server by the name of 'Noobstown' was formed, in which us 3 Noobs begun to build our own little town; Noob's Town.

Who knew 5 years later we'd be sharing that town with 40,000 registered users? and up toward half a million accounts connected throughout our versions.

I was going to use my old WOW account name - Jockitch - but I had enough problems in WOW with that one.

So this name comes from a Futureshop commercial from a number of years ago that I loved.

For some reason I had to add a number so Gigabyteme1 was born. I wish I picked Gigabyteme13 but oh well.

mine doesn't have much of a story haha. My now husband created my account for me when he bought me minecraft. It was his attempt to get my interested when I thought minecraft looked stupid or boring. I wanted just gamergirl but it was already taken so it suggested some other names and one of them was "gamergirlxo" and I thought, eh, that works. haha Not much of a story but thank you mojang for recommending it because it's given me the chance to be "gg" and I really love that everyone calls me that.

Well, I don't know the true origins of my name cause I just borrow everything. I don't even know whose internet this is, it was named Use Me so I did. Though anyway I do indeed have some theories.

Theory 1:
cmw19 stands for the Country Music Weekly issued on May 19th, 2014.

Theory 2:
cmw19 stands for the Canadian Music Week that occurred in 2013 which began on March 19

Theory 3:
There was a man on the day of October 20th (one day after the 19th), 2010, who reviewed a hotel in Florida and seemed to have enjoyed it

thus he moved to Florida cause the site showed the review was written from a New Zealand domain and named himself after Central Maintenance & Welding which happens to be located in Florida.

Theory 4:
cmw19 stands for an album called We Come Strapped created by Compton's Most Wanted which came out on July 19th, 1994.

Perhaps we may never know the true intent of the name cmw19 but we can dream can't we... and isn't that what matters the most.

Mine is not that interesting either as my real name is leigh and two of my favorite numbers is 5 and 6 thus leigh5556 was born and didnt have a clue he would end up playing version 5 and 6 with the best of friends he could ever imagine

I had to use something other than my real name as it contains weird norwegian letters and I feared no one would be able to pronounce it, so I just borrowed the name of a song I listened to at the time.
I had no idea what it meant and it was much later I found out it was the name of a greek goddess.

Fun part is people can't pronounce "Halcyon" either

Well my minecraft username (A_2_Z) was made because at first me and my brother shared a single minecraft account, and A and Z where our first initials, so we wanted to make it A_&_Z. Yet we couldn't do that so we just went with A_2_Z

The username i use for everything else (wheatley1138) was made as a reference to two of my favorite games. wheatley (from portal) and 1138 (from a star wars game, but i wont tell you which one

Also no one has been able to guess which starwars game i got the 1138 from.

My Mc Name was created by My Brother because He wanted to share the account and he thought it was Fair to use SirZavala because our last names are Zavala. Nothing major really.

I thought I'd put some honesty in my user name. To be honest I'm not you and since minecraft characters are genderless I decided to go for "it is not you".

I really don't know the origin of my username, but I do know that the 8's are reasonable, 8 is my lucky number.
I speculate that "wer" came from a sound effect from a TV Show I liked when I was 6. "Werrrkabang" it went.

(On the start of pocket edition) Humm when I first purchased Minecraft I was nine at the time i had a good relationship with people and had an interest in cold (I'm Indian :p I grew up in the mountains) so I asked myself, what can be a cool name? After many fake accounts like "hakunamatata123" I asked myself *chill* "you got to stop making random accounts you don't use and make one you will use for the rest of MC ... So then LittleChillz was born, combining my age , passion for cold weather, relationships, and stress xD.

As my old skin can pertain, ever since I was a little boy I looooooved wolves. So way back when 11 years ago when I was 6, I made my first email account :dawolfman91@yahoooooooooo! It was so marvelous. Then many years later, way back in the alpha days, I spotted minecraft. I set up 2 accounts, on named dawolfman91, and another named Wolfey. When I go to buy the game though... disaster struck. I was logged in on the wrong account! Either way, the name stuck and I've been playing with it for years.

I used to play club penguin in like first grade, and I made a new penguin and I wanted a penguiny type name so I thought of some ideas. I really liked this submarine mini-game on CB and the noise it made was glub glub glub so I added 909 (9 being my favorite number and 0 just being 0) and its been my username for everything for a while. (though I now use "Chizzle" as an account name when available!

The story behind my username is simple actually. I am an Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Sometime when people refer to the team they say Bama so that's where Bama came from. Girl and 365 should be self explanatory. So there you have it BamaGirl365.

Well, it was back in 2nd grade, when I player a game called MovieStarPlanet. Back then, thirty was my favorite number and I tried to get in the number 30, however as hidden as possible. I thought of many combinations, but when I came to 5979, I was struck by the simplicity of it, and I liked simplicity by then. Adam's self-explanatory, so I became adam5979. It stuck after that.

I came up with MikkelRayn as a result of my best friend and brother being unable to spell my name (Michael) always mixing up the a and e

" so he labeled me "Mikkel" And well, I liked it. And I love rain but I'm difficult so the personality Rayn was born. When I finally took control of my own mind, MikkelRayn was established circa 2007. I bought my minecraft account after trying it out on a friends computer during Classic and have been playing since. I refuse to change my username lol. It's original and no numbers required. <Pet peeve>
