Have you tried contacting Microsoft about this issue, or going to
support and help forums of either Microsoft or your CPU
provider to check if anyone else is also experiencing the issue?

Is it a legit version of XP? If it is, go to Control Panel and find the automatic updates. Service pack 3 should download automatically. You should enable the auto updates because there will be quite a few before it downloads SP3.

Sorry, I just read your entire post. I didn't know they disabled the downloads for XP, I've been using Mac OSX for a while. They say Windows 7 is really good and stable now, but if that isn't an option, you could probably find an install disc with SP3 on it on eBay? Good luck!

microsoft never has a stable OS till its about to put out a new OS then the last one they had is finally stable... i dont get it. but ya if you have the 32bit xp they quit providing support for it. but i finally found a few sites that had servicepack 1a then from there i just jumpped to service pack 3 and bam all done! lol. and now i get all my normal updates like i should with the auto updater. but thanks for trying to help lol.

and ozz dont worry give them a few years amd 7 will run like xp and then they will shoot out windows 8 lol.
