Towns & Nations / Portside! A Harbor in LunarFalls Outpost 2
« on: 15 Mar 2023, 21:26:05 »
It's retro! If you haven't been on in a bit, there's a lot to look at in LunarFalls, especially our residential outpost! Just added a new harbor (and it's still in the process of being completed, so if you're feeling adventurous, you can watch as things progress!) for fishing! There's always things to find in town, too! You can visit by using

/t o lunarfalls 2

And, as usual you can visit town by typing:

/t s lunarfalls

(Or, /t s lun and then hitting tab, after lun, and letting it autofill!)

Any questions? Feel free to leave me an ingame message by using

/mail send killjoydivine and your message here!

Hope to see you soon!

Market Place / WTB List for LunarFalls (WTB= Wanted to Buy)
« on: 14 Jul 2018, 05:45:57 »
I am still buying vines in a few places around LunarFalls, namely by the vine farm in the troll hole above the cactus farm (next to the vines). I also buy ferns in the ravine, and a few other things for a lucrative amount! Mostly I'm looking for vines and ferns though. I've been farming them myself, and don't have any qualms about doing that, but take my money!

The event is in the title! "Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes" event sponsored by LunarFalls is coming soon! Hosted by mayor KilljoyDivine (that's me!) and hopefully my co-mayor, cruisinkiy! Events will span other towns, and the prizes are sure to be just as stupid awesome! I'm looking at end of July, beginning of August, so get your stupid gear on, and ready for a lot of super fantastic (but I'm sure stupid!) prizes!

Market Place / So You Say You Want a Fishing Hole...
« on: 8 May 2018, 03:22:52 »
I'm available to be hired to make a fishing hole for you! Happy to negotiate prices. If you'd like examples of my work, they can be seen in town x (2 of them, actually- one near the farms and one off the iron path), Lunarfalls, my own /visit at my wild for bigger scale things, (work your way upstairs and see it), a water feature at /t o Lunarfalls saddle, and more. Depending on the scale and how big you'd like it will depend on how much I'd charge, but prices are always negotiable within reason! Also available are little fishing huts or docks! (Also in these areas.) Prices are also dependant upon whether or not you provide materials, and what said materials are. (Sorry, full diamond block ponds are not available at this time without you providing the materials.)

Talk to me!

Towns & Nations / LunarFalls
« on: 23 Apr 2018, 05:08:20 »
We've almost completed the farm!!

The farm is open to the public, just watch your step on the edges of the vines and cactus, I'll be putting in the wall this week. Rules are the same as everywhere, just replant, and share, and don't grief it, because I'll have to find you and we'll have to have a talk about replanting. It's a fun farm to use, the netherwart is easy to use since you can use the trenches to avoid walking the soul sand, and you can replant using them as well. The vine is a jungle adventure! The wheat fields will keep you warm!

I'm also buying different things, the chests of which can be found in the ravines. When you spawn in, take the west crossing (you'll be facing it when you spawn in), and take the little tunnel down to the left. Take the ladder down, hugging the left wall. You'll find a little sell shop there, where I'm buying things like magma blocks and ferns, lily pads, and red mushroom blocks. You'll have to use silk touch for some of these, or shears.

If the chests are full, please contact me (/message send Killjoydivine if I'm not on, /tell Killjoydivine if I am) in game and let me know, and I'll clear it specifically for you. Depending on your status, I may even buy for more. (Players with less than half a million will have an advantage, I'll be scaling accordingly!) Or, if you have something you think I might want, let me know too- you'll see I have a fair amount of emerald ore sprinkled throughout the town, something that will be continued as we expand.

Coming soon will be pre-built housing and shops! Pre-builts may include a bit of storage, furnaces, the usual pleasant amenities!

If you'd like to join town, but don't need a house, but want to be part of this, also contact me! We'll have an outpost in the hopefully not too distant future, where we will be open to folks building there their own builds. We don't have the plots for housing yet, so it's a process.

Again, we love for you to explore, you never know what fun things you might find!

Market Place / Looking for a job? Something to do?
« on: 21 Apr 2018, 21:02:26 »
LunarFalls will soon be opening a space for hiring and posting for small jobs. We're talking gathering things, so amount we'll/I need will vary. We may also hire to help carve out the space for the tree farm when it comes time for that! We'll make those spaces embassy, as we have some kinda fancy details in town and the mayor is paranoid. :P (I'm the mayor.)

If interested, either post and I'll find something for you to do, or you can check this post and I'll post where to find the job house in LF!

Looking forward to working with you!

Noobstown General / Explore & Win!
« on: 16 Apr 2018, 02:10:51 »
I've placed several chests with some fun items in both my wild, which you can explore at /visit killjoydivine, as well as my town, Lunarfalls! You can visit Lunarfalls at /t s Lunarfalls! Do be a little cautious when exploring LF, but, it should be pretty safe otherwise!

Such adventure! Much fun! So prizes!! I hope you enjoy it!

If you find a chest and you find it's been already looted, and I'm not online, be assured I'll be checking spots fairly regularly and putting things around!

One thing to do is to use https://www.noobscraft.com/shops/, and see if some neat thing you always wanted that might be rare is on there, for on the cheap! Try to use coords to see if you can find the chest!

Happy hunting!

Next weekend we will be running our fishing event again! I know, you might be thinking it's just gonna be some lame thing where people stand around and fish, right? (Or no, that's cool that you're super smart, too.) Well, we are bringing games, and contests! We've got a few heads lined up for prizes, some special KJD built and named items, and participation gifts! There is mending gear that will be awarded also at prizes!

I need you to come along and participate! I've decided this time, if only one person shows up and participates, we'll still award things, as I have multiple prizes available. Don't be sad about whether or not you have a low level fishing stat either- it may work in your favor! ;D

I'm super excited to be putting forth this event. I'm very much hoping that more people participate this time. If enough people are logged on during different times, I may run contests throughout the day, and weekend, as well, to let more people participate.

Apologies if this is too fast and loose for some, I'm trying to include as many people as possible.

Here's the link for the time:

(2pm CDT, CST in daylight savings.)

Fishing Event!

14
We're hosting another fishing event! And by event, we mean prizes and games!

We are still trying to determine the best time. If you're interested, please comment or let me know, so I can note it, and be available for this event.

Prizes that are available include things like mending gear and heads! Free cooked fish is of course available if needed. Splash potions of healing are also available on the cheap, in the event of TNT damage!

This is a fantastic way to grind up those fishing levels, which help increase your salvage levels. And it's a great way to get to know other players, and make new friends!

Noobstown General / Fishing Event Time Moving
« on: 9 Sep 2017, 18:20:48 »
The event is moving to a later time, at 4pm central daylight savings time, due to lack of bodies! Hopefully we'll have more folks show, and more people will be able to participate! If this time winds up not being a better time, we'll just keep adjusting as needed!

16
There's an awful lot of cooked fish lately. You know what's missing? Fresh fish. Raw fish. Sushi! You know the best way to get said fish? Fishing!

This Saturday I'll be at /visit KilljoyDivine, and we (and by we, I mean myself and everyone who shows up!) will be fishing and grinding out those fishing MMOs! If you need an invite to the party, we can arrange that, so more fun and points for everyone!

Food will be available as will chests, to store your phat fish loots. And by food, of course we mean cooked fish. (Cooked fish will be free for fishing picnic participants- how exciting!) Other foods may be available, depending on availability. Fish can be sold for higher than shop to myself, in case you'd like to supply the sushi vendors. Repair stations and salvage stations are also available!

In order to get to the fishing area, simply /visit KilljoyDivine, and work your way up the stairs. I'll be posting signs to make it easier. Out the door, and into the pond. Several spots are available for fishing!

The picnic will start at noon CST, and you can follow the link to find out when that time is for you!

Hope to see you there! Any questions, I'll answer either in game, or here.

Details are being firmed up such as the route, but soon we hope to be sponsoring the first Ethereal Pig Riding Marathon! Prizes will be offered to all participants, times will be announced as we finalize the plans! Get your carrot on sticks ready for the ride of your life!

18
So, there are 7 fish shacks, stands, boxes or similar that are released into the wild today. If you can find 5+, even if the cooked fish themselves disappear, and you let me know where you found them, and the names of them, I'll dig out a prize for you- that ISN'T cooked fish.

You might have to search high and low. Good times!

The boxes are in the mining world. May the best cooked fish hunter win! (*Prizes are not limited.)

Towns & Nations / Ethereal's Renaissance
« on: 27 Jul 2017, 01:28:36 »
Have you been to Ethereal lately? Lots has changed! I highly recommend our new skeleton spawner, found in the Chapel of Bones on the west side, and nearby the Whispering Oaks Cemetery, with a secret lab downstairs where the zombies wait to be experimented on!

The barns now include horse stables for your amusement, and a chicken coop, with spawner! All the eggs and feathers and chicken you could want. Organic and free range, of course!

Perhaps fighting is more your style. Check out our Archery and Front Wall, found on the south east corner. Grab some tasty cheap eats at our mess hall there, repair your armor at the blacksmith, bunk down for the night at the barracks. Earn some taming points by taming a wolf at the wolf spawner, and cull back those zombies and spiders and skeletons. Be careful though, the hordes can get surly and overrun you if you aren't careful. Beat those minions back! A beacon has your back, with some health and speed to help you survive. A command center offers some tips with a small library of help, and a map upstairs. We hear there might be cake!

When you tire of that, you can walk around a bit and see some of the different new and interesting features. A windmill that houses the last known pike of Don Quixote, and a strange chest that beckons you. A fountain park, where you can walk in circles while you meditate. A secret pirate cave, with lost objects. The Frozen Banana treat shop at the boardwalk. A fishing area where you can feel safe while you fish. We have a shopping district which offers all the basic amenities and then some! Maybe you're looking for a nice house, but don't quite want to build something- check out The Grotto and contact staff if you're interested in a place!

We continue to build new things every fortnight or so. Coming soon, spider caves with spawners, a house with a cellar crawling with spiders; a fresh PVP arena never seen before, complete with towers and nooks and crannies- multiple versions of games will be offered; The Grove, a residential area with cottages in the woods, with gardens and small farms, cheaper than the Grotto, but still beautiful; Rogue Gallery, a casino to try your luck winning different prizes; and an ice cream truck, what treats will we offer?

You can visit us at /town spawn Ethereal! We can't wait to see you!

Suggestions & Ideas / Player Push
« on: 21 Jul 2017, 13:36:21 »
So, with the latest update, turns out you can push other players. Was killed by a friend (who's name isn't important for this) because they ported up right next to me on top of a block to look at something. I'm concerned this could be used for nefarious purposes, trolling, griefing. Is this a server side thing that could be adjusted, or a Mojang "feature"?

Pictures / Pets? We've Got Pets! You've Got Pets?
« on: 21 Jul 2017, 13:31:50 »
We have a dog, and a cat. Mostly we have a lot of pictures of the dog. Well, Raiden has the cat pics.

So I hear sometimes stories of other people's animals, and I figured I'd share some pictures of Patsy! She's full of antics, as she's a full blood field Labrador. We've trained her to be so still, and patient, that we can stack a cheeseburger on her tiny little muzzle. Popcorn too!

Suggestions & Ideas / Wrench
« on: 11 Jul 2017, 18:28:44 »
Thinking maybe the same graphic as the shears maybe enchanted. What it does is this: it reorients the block you are clicking. Left click turns it horizontal, right click turns it vertical. And why would you want a wrench? To change which direction the glazed terracotta block is facing, wood blocks, bone blocks, quartz pillar blocks.

Another potentially handy use: changing paintings without actually smacking them to change them.

Suggestions & Ideas / "Library Cards"/Travel Ticket/Port Key
« on: 10 Jun 2017, 05:00:19 »
One thing I think that could be implemented and utilized in a variety of ways is a ticket system. Could be a multiple use card, (Ticket, 5/5 uses. Number decreases as it's used, so empty ticket is 0/5), maybe a colored piece of paper or a  one time use "key"- graphic used such as the tripwire, or similar. Something that distinguishes it from the other common item. Said item would be used to transport via teleport the player to a given location, such as someone's wild that isn't a visit, or a town shop, or other safe area. I think also that a "librarian" or "conductor" might be helpful to have, someone who checks to make sure that an area requested a card or ticket for is safe, so someone isn't being dropped in lava or off a cliff by using a ticket. :P (Might be able to use the same system that's in play for setting a visit.)

I also suggest this be something that a player purchase, and then be able to give to another player, or able to sell to other players, or on /ah. Use example: I purchase card/ticket. I can either give to you, or put in chest to sell for multiple purchases.  In essence, player that is being visited has to be creator of said ticket. So I can't make a bunch of tickets to Whuck's lag farm ( ;) ) and sell them to profit off of his land.

Could possibly be named by purchaser, ie: "Ticket to KilljoyDivine", "Ticket to Larrytown", "Ticket to Melonville", etc.

    Other uses:
    • Quest item, so a player can port to an area not otherwise in theme.
    • Other visit point, given to or purchased by another player.
    • Shop ports

Noobstown General / Thank You!
« on: 15 May 2017, 20:38:42 »
I'm probably suffering from sunstroke from being outside for longer than pretty much ever, but, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who helps make this server great. I feel super lucky to be part of it, and I love so much of it! I love the different designs of the different builds, and how helpful people are, and how friendly people are. I love that not everyone is the same! I love the diversity of the builds and the towns! I've been playing Minecraft for about 2 years off and on, and I feel like since I started playing on Noobstown, I've learned more about the game than I could have by playing creative single player. I'm less afraid of redstone than I was before!

Anyways, just a general thank you, and I'm so glad to be part of this server.
