Suggestions & Ideas / Player Shop Directory?

Been quite a while since I've been on and I have absolutely 0 knowledge on what shops even exist, let alone what might sell the things that I need. And I imagine it would be the same for any newbie who joins as well.

So, why not have some kind of player shop directory on the server? Kind of like a menu for it like the AH or the /shop. A player could pay a fee to be listed on the directory, along with a TP to their visit or their shop perhaps (perhaps the tp portion could be a higher fee to have as well). Some people have multiple possible shops, so potentially have more than one shop listing available for a person?

Along with that perhaps a way for people to list what they're selling in their shop. So like being able to pick whether you sell blocks, or ores, or farm things, or equipment/armor, etc. That would also allow a person to sort for what kind of items they're looking for.

I'm curious, how are tome rates doing right now? I've heard that perhaps the tomes might be messed up drop-rate wise?? Like that the rarer tomes are dropping more often than the basic ones?

So, I'd love to see what your drop rates are! How much of each type have you gotten? Is there any imbalance that you can tell?

Since we have 10 days left before the tomes are over, if there are any issues it'd be good to figure them out before it's all over. Especially if we're going to have an event like this again!

Suggestions & Ideas / Wild Chunks - Mob Spawning Off

So a big feature in towny is being able to toggle whether hostile mobs are able to spawn town-wide and for specific plots as well. However no such feature has been included in our wild chunks and I'd like to see if it would be possible to include this.

After all, if I'm at my home I don't really want to be getting attacked by mobs while I'm building or just going about putting away my items in my storage... which seems to happen no matter how lighted my house is, one single creeper will spawn in and blow up on me.

Suggestions & Ideas / Sugar Cane in /Shop

Hello hello, yes... I'm going to be suggesting this again because I feel like this is something that could be needed. To be honest I still don't fully understand why it isn't in the shop to start with, since if I recall the reason was that it could be "easily automatized"? However since logs are placed in the shop and we know that getting logs was super easy before, and still kind of is, this makes less sense when the same logic should be applied to both. (Plus it's kind of a huge money sink to create a sugar cane farm large enough to even automatize? Plus you can do the same for any of the other food items, so the logic kind of breaks since wheat... carrots... potatoes... netherwart... is in the shop.)

So therefore it seems to me the solution is simple, use the same solution for both. Simply add sugar cane to the shop but make it very, very cheap. Even something as simple as 5nbz per stack is a solution, as a dc would only give one 270nbz total. In that amount of time someone would have been able to go out and dig/mine up way more money.

Anything is better than nothing and having to just leave it scattered all over the floor or just /ci it away, it's such a huge waste to be honest. Thanks for looking at this suggestion~

I was wondering if it would be possible to have an application system like towns have for auction chests, however instead of auction chests it would be that the town has a sign placed at their spawn that has a link to the town's thread (Recruitment/information thread/etc).

It would be that when a player does /town spawn [name] they would end up facing this sign that perhaps says like "Check out our town at: Link here". (Perhaps like with the voting link it could be a shortened one that directs to the thread the town wants, so it's easier to type in?) I'm not sure if there's a way to make it so a player could 'hit' or 'place' on a sign so that it pops up the option to open the link or not as the vote does in the chat. That would make it easier though if possible. ;3

This would allow towns to have an easier way to recruit players or let players see what's available in the town, as the town staff could simply direct them to the town spawn and the person could check out the thread, see all the rules and amenities, and get a better idea of the town instead of by what the town staff can place on signs around the spawn.

There could perhaps be a possibility for multiple signs with links? So that a player could click on different links to different posts within the same town thread if they're interested in different things about the town.

Apparently this has now been fixed... Dunno why there wasn't a reply stating this but oh well.

So I was going to edit one of my posts today because one of the dates on it is wrong, only to see that... there's no option to modify the post anymore? Is this a bug, did the option get moved elsewhere, or are we just not allowed to edit our posts anymore? I'd kind of like to know since I need to modify that first post to keep it up to date every week.

Suggestions & Ideas / /ignore - Ignore TP as well?

So it's been noted by several people repeatedly that when you use /ignore it pretty much only makes it so that you can't see what the person is posting in the chat. However they're still fully able to send you annoying things such as TP spam or full-out send you a /msg to continue harrasing you if they so wish to. (I forget if the /msg is still possible, will test with Duelcon once he's back from eating.)

Since the whole point of having /ignore is that you don't have to deal with things that are bothering you, at the very least implementing it able to block TP requests from that person would be useful.

Several reasons why TP spam is problematic enough to require this-
  • Users don't have a choice whether they see or don't see the TP request currently
  • TP requests can be sent in a rapid-fire within the boundaries of our command delay
  • The spam can quickly fill up chat and fill your chat history so that all you see is the spam and can no longer effectively communicate with other members
  • Currently there's only two ways to stop TP spam: Either go offline or send a screenshot to a staff member to have them deal with it.
  • If there's no staff on there's really nothing you can do, and in the time it takes to upload screenshots with various software and send it you can easily lose track of a conversation which may have been important (news updates with your town staff, making a deal with someone to sell/buy an item, etc. and in some cases you may have only seen the text and have no way of knowing who said it)

If it would be at all possible to implement this I think it would make things easier, as not everyone enjoys being spammed with TPs. ^^

Suggestions & Ideas / Shop - Sellall

I was wondering if it would be possible to add an option into the shop so that you could simply click and sell all of an item that is in your inventory? I remember being able to do /sellall in V5 and it would sell everything in your inventory to the /shop that was possible, however people probably don't want to sell everything in their inventory often.

Just curious since it can get a little tedious when you're constantly mining having to pause and click the item you're selling off to the /shop 20+ times each inventory full... Especially if you have to do it many times an hour... ^^"

Restarting this topic, made it more efficient to gather information and calculations.

Each week I'm going to check all the towns and make a report on whether they gained/lost residents and money. This can just be for fun or you can actually use it to track how well a town is doing, whether they're growing quickly, or even if they've been working hard on a project and burning up their money!

I will try to do this once a week every Saturday, however sometimes I may end up doing it on Sundays.

As the wilds plot type now works, Dracomere farms are open for anyone and everyone to use, whether you're in a town or just living out on your own!!

Feel free to drop by our farms, straight out from /town spawn Dracomere, and get whatever materials you'd like!

If you'd like to you could also sell the produce or wood you collect to the chest shops right in front of the farms for higher profit than /shop!

Market Place / Dracomere Spawn - Buying Dirt

Hello there! At Dracomere spawn I currently have quite a few chests set up to buy dirt for our farms, since it's going to need quite a lot of dirt to build them all.

At the spawn I'm buying dirt for 160nbz a stack, the same price as /vipshop. They're set up so that you can sell a full inventory with a single click.

If you find that all the chests are filled up let me know on here or send me a mail so that I can empty them!

Towns & Nations / Dracomere Shops Available

Dracomere currently has one shop available to be purchased and run. A shop costs $5000 and has no taxes on it, can be bought by someone out of town as well.

Shops have a few rules attached to them that you'll need to follow:
  • Can only sell what your shop is. So for example if your shop is redstone you won't be selling wool
  • Can build downwards and edit the floors of your shop but you cannot build upwards/expand the shop upwards.
  • Mention what color/material you'd like your dragon head to be made out of. Nothing ridiculous like emerald.
  • Must be able to keep it moderately stocked, if you're inactive for longer than a month without warning you lose the shop

Redstone Shop
This shop will be focused on redstone supplies, such as the ores, redstone itself, and anything that has to do with redstone contraptions like hoppers or repeaters.

If you're interested in and believe you can run one of these shops reply to here or contact me ingame. Once a shop is bought I'll remove it from this list.

Support / Salvage Wrecked?

So I just achieved level 1000 repair and was looking forward to finally be able to use salvage... only to discover that it's completely ruined now. While it's quite a rub to learn it's now a child skill of Repair and Fishing, which means that I would be forced to leveling the boring fishing skill in order to get much out of the skill, it's even more of a rub to learn that Salvage isn't even working the way it used to.

The way I understand it Salvage now lets you salvage damaged items after a certain amount of levels [2000 in the case of the server, which would probably be around level 2000 repair and 2000 fishing considering how it adds the skill levels together and then divides them by two. And after you attain Advanced Salvage you STILL have to level the skill up in order to get more than 1 ingot for even a slightly damaged piece of armor/tool.

Now maybe I could live with that (although really? Level 2000 repair and fishing in order to even unlock the skill? Barely anyone even has 1000 repair, let alone fishing) but what I find most rubbing is that I only get one ingot/item back from even a fully-repaired piece of armor/tool. I've tested it several times.

A helmet pre-Salvage change would give me five ingots back when I salvaged it. Now I only get one back. And it doesn't matter what the item is. It gave me back one ingot whether I was salvaging a helmet or pants, both of which require different amounts to create.

So... what's the point of the Salvage skill now when it's completely useless? I'd rather just sell the armor/tools after repairing them then waste them for just one ingot/item back.

So I was reading about how in towny there's a configuration for the wilds plot types that allow the server owners to designate which blocks/items can be destroyed on any plot that's set to the wilds type.

I was curious if it would be possible for the configuration to be set so that people could only destroy the logs/leaves of all the tree types, and all the types of farming equipment that would be within a town, such as: Cactus, netherwart, vines, cocoa beans, pumpkin/melon [not the stems, therefore people can't remove those], carrots, wheat, and potatoes.

Lily pads could be kept off the destroy list as I know that some towns would prefer to use them in their sugar cane farms as they make movement a lot easier unlike slabs, however people inevitably always end up smacking the lily pads and would require one to keep replanting them as needed.

If this was implemented it would make it extremely easy to keep town farms protected without any need for grief fixing when we get the odd griefer that decides they want to take advantage of a town's kindness.

Market Place / Dracomere Shops Available

As of right now Dracomere has one type of shops that we are looking for someone to run. However there will be strict rules for this shop that you'll have to abide by if you wish to run it.

Rules
-You'll only be selling your item theme, nothing else
-If you decide to sell an extra item you must discuss it with the shop owner who currently runs that item
-Keep the shop stocked and with reasonable prices

The shop types that Dracomere currently has are:
-Tools/armor
-Mining/general blocks
-Enchanted items
-Wool/Dyes/Decorations
-Redstone
-Farm supplies
-Wooden items

The shop type that we are looking for is:
-Mob Drops [Such as gunpowder, ghast tears/etc]
[TidalMewMew has not decided if she's doing stained glass/clay, therefore it is not listed as an available shop yet until she has her mind made up, thank you!]

If you feel that you're able to run this shop, or you think that you have an idea for a shop type that isn't covered already in Dracomere, feel free to reply here or discuss it with me ingame or over PM.

Suggestions & Ideas / Remove Flux Mining

Since it seems that the various aspects of MCMMO can be edited for certain groups, and that the VIP perks lists Flux Mining as one of its perks, I was wondering if it would be at all possible to remove Flux Mining completely.

The main reason for this is that it seems to not serve enough of a function to put up with the annoyance that comes with it. While on one hand it's nice to just be able to auto-smelt an ore that seems to be the only function it serves. It doesn't seem to give you vanilla xp, and I'm not sure if it gives you mcmmo xp although certainly it should do that.

What most people do when it comes to gold/iron ores is to just use a Silk Touch pick so they don't have to deal with Flux Mining. But it seems rather silly for people to have to go out of their way to avoid something, why not simply not have it there to begin with? Then we wouldn't have to go around things and all the little irritations that come with forgetting to use an ST pick on the ores and it auto-smelts them.

Hopefully if I'm wrong and there's some actual good perks to Flux Mining someone can point it out, otherwise for now it just doesn't seem useful enough to want to keep.

Support / Brewing Using Too Many Items?

So I've noticed that when I'm using my brewing stands they'll use up 3 items instead of just 1 when I make three potions like normal. So if I have 64 sugar in the stand and put in 3 potions as normal I'll have 61 leftover afterwards.

That in itself doesn't bother me, I've built a sugar farm that I'll have more than enough for the brewing itself. What does concern me is that Tidal was testing it just now as well and she doesn't have this problem. She'll put in 64 sugar into the stand for 3 potions and will have 63 leftover, the brewing stand only using 1 item to make the three potions.

I'm confused if this is something inherent into the Alchemy skill as you gain levels (Which I checked and I didn't see anything in /alchemy mentioning this), but even so Tidal claimed that it never happened to her at all. So I'm just wondering if this is some kind of bug that it's affecting me and not someone else.

Suggestions & Ideas / Adding Item Data to Auction

So I noticed that when you actually look at the auction you can click on an item and see the stats for like the average price of it along with a graph that shows you how much people have paid for the item recently.

That's great, really. Now I'd like it if we could see that same graph when we're going to put an item up on the auction on our web inventory, otherwise we have no way of knowing what most people are paying for that item unless we put the item up or find it already on the auction (Which with a lot of items they aren't on the auction at the time).

This way you can actually get a good idea on a fair price without flying blind and putting a price that you think is good but when you check the auction prices you see was completely underpriced/overpriced.

I just thought it would help with high/low prices on items, helping give people a better idea on what they should put their items as to get bids.

I simply want to get a check of who wants to join the town before V6 actually comes out so that I can send out invitations when I get the town created. The spawn itself might not be fully built when I send out invitations, but I'll be making sure that everyone has a place to store their items.

Towns & Nations / Dracomere -The MCMMO Leveling Town-

Welcome to the thread for Dracomere, the town that focuses on MCMMO leveling along with having a marketplace!

If you wish to join the town you are not required to buy a plot, you are free to simply be in the town to use the various MCMMO things that we will be offering. If you wish to join you can either make a post on this thread or send a /mail to myself, TidalMewMew, Duelcon, or Entangled.

As this town will be mostly focused on providing areas for MCMMO leveling there won't be as many plots, however we will of course have plot districts for members to use if they so choose. Please don't use them as your main home however, considering you're very limited in space as compared to what you could have in the wilderness world. You also get free teleportation to your wilderness home chunks.

Town Assets
As this town will be focusing on MCMMO leveling as well as having a marketplace we'll have areas that you can level your MCMMO with, it also makes it extremely easy to level up within a party.
Currently what we have is:
-Herbalism
-Woodcutting
-Attack skills [A mob grinder straight from spawn]
-Giant lake for fishing, including iron blocks for repair at each "station"


What we have planned in the future:
-An acrobatics course
-A repair station with cactuses and a regeneration beacon
-PVP arena
-Giant 30-chunk large sugar cane farm for quick herbalism grinding

How can I use the town to the fullest?
You can always join up into a party with other players in the town, make sure that your party can EXPshare, which halves your XP and shares it amongst the members of the group. Then you and your party can go to the different stations and work on skills, sharing the XP to raise each of you.

This can work especially well when it comes to the herbalism/woodcutting skill, as the farms are close enough that one person can work on herbalism and one on woodcutting and both can increase the opposite skill at the same time. The more people you have working at the same time in close proximity the more XP you can gather

The rules of the town:
-All server rules apply
-We may not always have a plot prepared for you, please be patient if that is so. We'll provide a place to store your items at least.
-If you use the farms you are required to replant (This includes everyone not in the town)
-Do not exploit market stalls (TAs should go around them every so often to check if they're too cheap/high)
-Do not beg for ranks within the town
(Myself and the other TAs will be looking for people we trust to join the TA list. Simply go about your normal business, helping as you would and if we like you enough we'll add you. I apologize if that sounds rather biased, but I only accept people in power positions if I trust they won't abuse them)
-Building only to be in your plots
-If you have a building idea for the town in mind mention it to the TAs and myself. If we like the idea you may create a version of it in a creative mode to show us, if it looks good we'll allow you to create it within the town as well as find a spot for it to be.

Rules of your plots
-Do not mine your plot, please. There is a world for this and it will make it hard to sell the plot if you leave/sell.
(You may build below your plot, but unless you have a reason please don't mine it fully out)
-If you are inactive for one month without informing anyone you will be kicked and lose your plots.
(If you want to avoid this make sure you PM the TAs as well as myself to ensure we know you have a reason)
-Plots will cost 200Nbz each, so if you want four of them you'll be paying 800Nbz total
