Server Announcements / Re: Time to say Goodbye!
« on: 18 Jul 2016, 00:13:15 »
Thank you for giving the world of Minecraft such a great (and stable!) server with such an awesome and friendly community.  So many servers come and go because their owners simply lose interest...running one for six years is an amazing commitment.  I remember how impressed I was to come back after three years to find that Noobstown was still run by the same people, with some of the same core players that I remembered.

With that said, real life trumps gaming every time, and life must eventually move on.  I wish you all the best, and have no doubts that the transition will be handled with the same care and attention you have always given to Noobstown.   :)

And the rare case of which adam speaks would be me.   :P

The interface is vastly easier to use overall, don't get me wrong, but I do miss the ability to more clearly specify what I'm selling.  I can see that adam's suggestion might not be feasible because it would require additional coding, but surely the plugin allows the list of sellable items to be tailored?  Maybe an extra page, or more categories, or something?

Unless it's just me, and this is a problem no one else has, in which case don't mind me.   :D

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Voting
« on: 15 Jul 2016, 20:45:23 »
I'm not sure PMC does count both votes...whenever I vote from two devices, one tells me "successfully voted" and the other gives me an error page - both on the PMC side.

I just don't think it's fair if this multiple-device trick is only known to a handful of players who use it to get top ten every month.  Imagine how you'd feel if, after diligently voting day after day like Prof_Templeton (and seriously, his morning vote is like clockwork!) you watched all these other players get rewarded month after month, then found out they knew something you didn't.

I can understand if there's no way for the admins to track/quantify this.  But there must be a vote count per player;  maybe if a given player's vote count is greater than the total days in the month, the extras could be tossed out to make it more fair?

Guides / Re: V6: Pet Guide

You cannot dye the sheep, it will just turn back to being white..

Pity....no pet Woolsley for me then (he's lime green).  More Noobz to spend on other stuff!

Three pet related questions I'd like to know before dropping 20k nbz on one:

First....are pets a thing again, or still disabled?

Second....you can ride a pet, but can you steer it, like a pig and carrot and stick and/or horse?

Third.....if I dye a pet sheep, will the color stay put after dismissing and recalling the pet?

Thanks in advance!

Support / Re: Copies of books?

Thank you for the quick reply!

Sorry to put this in the wrong place, I had figured the Support section was for server issues and the like.

Support / Copies of books?
« on: 26 Jun 2016, 15:16:04 »
Looking around the auction, I noticed a number of written books for sale.  Some say "Original" and some say "Copy of", like Whuck's Mining Tricks.

How does one make such a copy of a written book (without re-typing the whole thing)?  I have a little story I'd like to type up and sell copies of.

Towns & Nations / Re: Town recommendation?
« on: 5 Feb 2013, 17:58:58 »
Thanks for the rec's, everyone!  I've taken strolls around both Morningwood and Tortuga so far.

Mrfloris, what's the name of FireIce808's town?  I'd like to visit and look around before choosing (and thanks to you, I have plenty of cash for a plot now!).   :)

(edited once for poor wording)

This thread should be a sticky - very useful information!

Towns & Nations / Town recommendation?
« on: 5 Feb 2013, 04:55:11 »
I don't need much in a town....a safe town spawn point, basic amenities (an orchard, a wheat farm) and modest to no taxes.

But more importantly, I'd like a town that's not going to take away my plot if life happens and I can't be online for a couple weeks.  :P

Is there such a place?  In return, I can contribute a charming Tuodor-esque style cottage, which will only require one plot, and would hopefully add to the town's builds.   :)

Noobstown General / Re: How did you find us?
« on: 5 Feb 2013, 03:22:40 »
Planet Minecraft.

Probably because players are bribed 500 Nbz to vote for the server, so it comes up in the Top Servers and Most popular lists.  ;)

But I was also drawn here because Noobstown seemed very active and well organized, and had a decent website/forums where I could get an idea of the community before trying it out.
