As part of our ongoing process to try and improve Noobstown we've decided to make a few adjustments and changes to some of the ranks on Noobstown that have remained reasonably constant for the last few years. The following changes will be coming to Noobstown in stages over the next few days/weeks.

Firstly we're introducing a whole new rank of people who will assist the Admin team with the direct creation of Quests and themed items. These people will have the new [Content] prefix in-game and will be in light blue. They're still moderators too on top of that though. We'd also like to give a great welcome to the first member of the Content team: DadJaeger, he has already assisted us with consistent moderation for many years and with previous quests too, so we think it's a great role for him to move on to. Other players will likely get this role in the future too, but for now it's just him. We hope this new rank will allow us to bring you more and better Quests going forward with the ability for more than just myself and Foob directly creating them in-game, look forward to some of the improvements from this soon hopefully! It will not be possible to apply for this rank directly, it will be given to those who we believe are suitable to have it.

Secondly we're going to be phasing out the 'Supporter' rank. This rank was created many years ago for those player's who donated for something other than VIP or when they're VIP ran out, it hasn't be possible to gain for many years now, gives you no extra perms and we think it's time to phase it out. As a thank-you though; all existing Supporters will be upgraded to Veteran for free, giving them all access to the perks of that rank. This change will be happening over the next few days.

Next we're going to renaming the rare 'Architect' rank to be 'Builder', this rank was never publicly announced previously, however it's for those players who currently are or have previously contributed large builds to the public areas of the server, such as the spawns. They don't have any extra special abilities or permissions, it's just our way of saying thank-you. Again it isn't directly possible to apply for this, we will give it to those we believe deserve it and have actually contributed to the server builds.

All other ranks will remain the same for now.

As always we're still on the look out for people to join the ChatMod team, you can apply here. If you're considering this role now might be a good time to apply if you haven't yet *hints*.

I hope you enjoy these changes, if you have any questions or useful constructive feedback on this please say in a reply below. We will be making a number of other changes to some things over the next coming weeks and months, along with long-awaited new Town System, hopefully you'll all enjoy the direction Noobstown is going in.

What if we have applied in the past? Do we have to reapply?

If we have applied for a Staffing role previously, would it be an idea to spruce up our applications and make them a bit more 'up-to-date' so to speak, because I know I talk not only for myself but a few others that have applied months ago but are still interested but may be a little concerned because our applications where from a while back they might be skipped over.

Also, in regards to the Builder and Content rank, you mention it's not possible to apply for and will only be given to those that directly contribute, my question is what is the best way to get our foot in the door per-say' and help with future builds and quests with no direct way of 'Applying'. Will you just ask people, or should we contact a staff member privately about wanting to help out, or something else entirely. I only ask this because again I know of a couple people who would be interested but maybe aren't entirely sure on how to get involved.

As for the supporter rank, about time lol, great to see they will be given the Veteran rank.

Sounds exciting!  Can't wait to see what all comes of it & all the fun quests!  :D

Congrats to Dadjaeger!

I have the same questions as Rose & Smurf... if we applied and are still interested in applying, do we update our applications? especially if they are way back a bit, are all the applications in the whole thread for active players still going to be considered?

If you have already applied you can re-apply if you want to, but you don't have to. You can do so either by editing your existing post if it will let you, or just post another reply.

Feel free to adjust your application if you want to, or make another post if you feel it would be better, but it isn't necessary if you already have one the content you provide in your applications won't be the deciding factor, it's just to register your interest and let us know a bit about you and why you would like to join the team. We're way more interested in if you're actually being helpful to others in-game.

As for the Content rank, that is currently only likely to be given to existing staff which we have already (obviously if you apply and become a Chatmod you could work up to it though), it has a lot of extra powers for allowing the creation of the Quests, etc. so it will only be given to a select few as we need them. As for Builders they are selected by Foob when he needs assistance, so you can't directly apply for that, although if you speak to Foob (if you can manage to actually see him in-game :P) he might be interested.

As I said above, if you want to you can update your applications, but you don't need to. We will look back through the applications as we need staff so don't worry if you make yours some time ago; but if you want to apply with an updated version feel free (but don't just repost exactly what you did previously).

All old Supporters should now be a Veteran both on the server and the site now! If you've got any problems with this please let me know :).

I thought dadjaeger stepped down as a moderator or something, but [content] is a [mod] too, i guess.. what if it's a [builder] that has done quest stuff and is rewarded [content], or is it limited to mods and not [member]  [builder] or eh [veteran] etc?

anyway, glad to see jaeger still doing its thing as a mod.

DadJaeger is still a mod yeah, he hasn't stepped down, but now also has the ability to help us with quests and other themed things. Currently we're only giving DadJaeger the 'Content' rank but there will likely be others in the future too; it will most likely be players who have already been part of the Moderation team since the rank has the ability to do things which require a large amount of trust from us. But again that might change in the future as we progress and begin to make use of the new rank more. The 'Content' rank has all moderation rights too though so they should still be treated as a Moderator with extra abilities.

If you've got any ideas for Quests or themed months please suggest them and we'll definitely consider them, and if you're interested in being staff yourself please feel free to apply too.
