What happens if Minecraft updates to 1.8 before you release the server? Will you release it on 1.7?

Unless Mojang decides to change a whole lot of stuff again like they did in 1.7, they should have no problem releasing in 1.7 while waiting for 1.8

The only downside to a 1.8 update would be that the plugins would still have to be altered to work with the new update, and people who use mods like Optifine, such as myself, in order to play the game effectively would have to wait some time for that to happen, as Optifine is not even updated 100% to 1.7 yet.

However, I can't wait for the server to finally release. I haven't played survival since V5 went down, and have only played a game type called Dwarves vs. Zombies.

Also, happy belated New Year. :D

That says it all :P

Also, did anyone notice at the end of the preview when it said "Soon. Very soon." it says under it in small letters "Seriously, this time guys (no joke)!"? +1 to the admins for that.

What's actually the current version I would need for texturepacks and mods (minimap) on the sevrer? 1.7.2?
Haven't played in a while and apparently I'm already to old to keep up with these constant changes. :P

Dwarfes vs. Zombies? Isn't that what minecraft is like when nebih or DwarfLeon are around? Well, still harmless compared to Tidal vs. Zombies - the things that she can do to a zombie with her axe... there is a reason creepers are afraid of kittens.
It's really time to see all you frea~ uhm lovely people again, playing guildwars instead is really getting boring.

Hm new year, if there was a big fireworks party planned for New Year that we had to miss - we could still have that. Jan 31st is Chinese new year in Asia and they love fireworks.
