Hey all,

As we are drawing closer to the release (excited!!) I feel a post of how to go about your first day on Noobstown is in order and also to clear up some confusion about how money will be generated in the economy. As in all Noobstown versions, we've always had a server shop system that allowed 'Junky' type trades to be sold and bought for a base price and this tradition will continue in v6. However, we will not be allowing purchasing of items through this system, we specifically wish to avoid spawning items through this mechanic, as it simply creates false units and reduces the amount of player trading/demand to that item. The Global shop/Server shop as you may know it will be used to sell goods, which will give you a basic amount of cash to play with and start moving it around between players via player trading. The Auction system will be driven 100% by player based trades, and this will be where your money can be used to buy goods from other players, almost every single item can be sold on the Auction, including personalized books.. you could be the next big author!

Alternatively to our auction system we will continue the tradition of Chest based shops, with the removal of the in-spawn Market (Replaced with auction system) the chest shop system should only be used for local trading, as trading via this method is very limited at trading across a wide audience. Auction listings on the other hand will be listed on the main auction page, which every single member can see, buy straight out or bid on if you have opted to allow bids. The auction system can be used in-game or out, this means you don't even have to login to earn money, you can become a master of the auction offline the server and collect your goods when they are ready in-game at a later date, its really that versatile! The new system offers all players a fantastic platform for trading on Noobstown and we are so proud to finally release the system publicly on the 7th.

Killing monsters! We've brought a whole new mechanic over to Noobstown and that is a fully functioning bounty style system for hostile mobs. Killing mobs to earn money is an awesome incentive to get out into the dangers of the wild, for every kill you will gain a small monetary bonus! ~

Casino Try your luck on the slot machines, you could win big!

Entering the lottery Each day there will be a Lottery, in order to take part you must first purchase a ticket. Once purchased you will then be eligible for the Jackpot. (Jackpot = the amount of tickets sold)

Voting for the server

Every day you may vote for the server. By voting you will earn a reward!

Completing Quest

By completing Quest you will earn money based rewards.

Important Information

Earning & Prices

As you may or may not be aware the prices have been upscaled since version 5, this means that there is a lot more room for prices to go up and down without crashing completely. In the announcement of our town prices we originally stated they would start at 85k in Version 6, since then we have decided to upscale the economy by x10 this means the price for a town will start at 850k.. don't worry! I know what you are thinking, how the heck am I going to make that much!? - All of the sale and reward prices will be upscaled too, you won't notice the different between the length of making from 0-85k to the length of 0-850k. Literally the only change is the size of the number, this avoids items dropping into small digits. (Example: V5 price of dirt being 0.5)

so basically at the beginning, if towns cost 850k, then the server shop will buy junk items for a considerable more amount of noobz right at first?  The reason I'm a little confused is if it costs nearly a million to make a town, shouldn't voting for the server be more than 500 nbz since everything else in price is going up?

Yes, the price per unit sold in the server shop will be more and 500 Nbz (previous post) about vote rewards will be changing also.

You admins...the server plugins you made are just amazing, V6 will be so much different than V5 and theres its so professional looking with the servers own plugins and mind blowing spawn. Its sitting right with those few servers that has its own custom everything (of course with the exception of the basic plugins like mcmmo, you kinda need that). My favorite part of spawn is the place with all those mushrooms and weird plants...I just LOVE that. Amazing job admins and Batuus!

And a question, So from what i see there arent very many things in the junk shop, out of the 9 slots there were only 8 things you could sell. Does this mean the junk shop i way smaller than the V5 type shop or can we do like /junk shop 2 and it has more things to sell?

I assume the item in the 9th slot of the /shop will lead onto a second page.

It does have a version for 1.7. Go to the site then choose whichever resolution you want. Then scroll down to near the bottom of the page and it will say downloads, press on the primary link under where it says 1.7 to download. and wollah youve downloaded dokucraft. Ik you probably knew how to download it but this might help some people.

So as a clarification more than anything, what is the exact situation for people who owned towns in v5 and want to start towns in v6?

It's currently my understanding that we still need to accumulate the 850k noobz, but we're grandfathered into having our request to start a town "approved" per that thread long ago, right?

Finally the junk items shop explained :D

PS: Dokucraft has been discontinued a long time ago and "the saga continues" is a spin-off that allows players to build their own doku-like pack with variations of the original textures.
It felt like playing a good old SNES rpg :D

  Thank you Supreme Foob, your info helps me plan my ways to make noobs, my original question about V6 was the shopsell feature one of my favorite features of Noobs town, I'm fairly new to your fine server , I find I miss a lot of the friends I made in V5,and I'm looking forward to seeing all of you again in V6,Hoppy the Ancient miner.

Will there ever be an ability to make a "revenue account" for a, say, auction or shop business? I have always thought this would be a useful and simplifying tool to split profits, pay expenses, run a fairer business with other people. (so we know that no one is keeping more than their fair share, and its split even  ;)) For instance, if I was going to run a wood selling business, and I owned chest shops, sold in the auction, etc, would there ever be a way to create an account where all of the revenue from these endeavors could be stored? You know, like businesses and corporations in the real world? I suppose one could create a fake town and use that as a technique to store money (and have extra land in the town world  :P). Another question. Can you sell things through the online shop to a certain person, like direct, private trades, or will that have to be done in the world like in the past?

Thanks for all of your tedious work for this update, its gonna be a good one!

Stuff about sharing revenues and exclusive sales

As far as explained no, the only way you can share with someone else is putting stuff into a physical chest and share the access to that. About revenues, the only way to have a shared stash of money is a town bank so far.

You could give all the items to one trusted person that will start all the auctions needed.
Auctions can be constantly monitored and expiration times are public, so you will know if they expired or not and how many items have been sold and for how much.

The main problem is calculating quotas, not the actual sharing.
Say you have 10 woodcutters. Who will check how much wood each of them is putting on the shared stack?
Of course the guy putting 20 stacks will want more money than the guy putting just 5.
Then you'll probably end up having someone putting nothing at all, yet demaning money.

To solve that you'd need a supervisor, one trusted person with access to all the chests, most probably the same one that will start the auctions and share the revenue.

The only alternative would be implementing a proper "guild bank" system like in many other games where everything deposited is logged and no one can lie.

Could be interesting but also a bit demanding on the server.

In future updates, can we also make an alteration to shop chests (if at all possible) to allow people who you designate to also get into the chests?

Like say I'm running a shop and one of my friends has a chest that needs restocking but he isn't able to play for a while. Could you alter it so that I can get in and restock it or does that power reside with the creators of the people who built that plugin?

I think that it'll help mayors/ta's notice quicker if someones not active aswell.
