mcMMO Changes & More

Earlier today I made several changes to mcMMO, hopefully positive adjustments to experience gains for the different skills. This included fixing gaining mcMMO XP for herbalism and alchemy; which you should now be able to do for both skills.

As with all changes I am open to feedback and if you decide the changes haven't been positive I'm open to reviewing them again.

To celebrate the return of herbalism and alchemy it'll be 2x mcMMO for the rest of the weekend!



In other news you can now ride natural horses, mules, llamas, etc. without them immediately disappearing once you dismount them! This also means you can now level taming using those natural animals too.



The chat filter has also been updated now to hopefully allow a little more wiggle-room with punctuation.



Hopefully you'll enjoy these things, but if you've got any honest feedback regarding any of these changes (good or bad) please let me know.

Aw yeah! Updates to mcMMO :) Fantastic. Glad to hear Alchemy is back in play again.
Thank you for these updates! It's good to see the suggestions and feedback are reviewed internally and that once in a while we get these updates to help better the server. Two thumbs up.

Hey everybody, if you are online Saturday evening we can get together and grind some acrobatics and excavation and maybe fishing again, or whatever people are doing. If we acro I might be able to drop a few items as we drop from level to level. Who knows!

Wooh! I've been wanting to do alchemy, this is great! Looks like we'll have another great weekend :D

We've been grinding for 7+ hours now and streaming it, so everybody can learn how to do it and see how I do it.
We've had fun together with emma, edix, and everybody else playing /party skill-grinding while playing.

Had a acro grind today and streamed it for a handful of hours :) played even more later when i had a nap first. And the server just restarted :) Didn't make it to 25k power level, but i got close: 24,700+

Some of the changes are a bit questionable :)
getting 0 and 1 once in a while on every skill ..
This is an intended change to encourage levelling of a variety of skills. In a particular time frame you are now limited in how much XP you can earn per skill. Think of it as a timeout once you've just done a lot of levelling. The time frame is pretty short so you should be able to switch do doing something else for a short period and then go back to the skill you were levelling up before. As with all of these changes I'm open to feedback about this; the intention is that should be unlikely to hit these limits if doing a normal amount of levelling each skill. I'll see how others feel about it, or if they're even hitting the limits.

Okay, I get that, thanks for explaining.. I think I understand how this works. Shouldn't be too hard for to figure out this change and get to 25k this weekend.

I didn't know it was a change but when I do notice I'll be glad to know it was intentional. :D

Yea Possibly change it to 20per sand at most and 1.5 per sand at least?

The point of the change is that once you've gained a certain amount of XP in a certain skill in a particular time frame then you'll not be able to gain anymore until enough time elapses.

I have however now just dramatically increased the limits on all skills, it's not my intention for it to be a thing you even notice in normal gameplay. The change I've just made will take effect after the server restart tomorrow morning, let me know how it is after that point.

We worked four years to get some 'time' on our abilities, some perks .. and now those are nerfed again too, you have to see it from our point of view and understand why we kinda shake our head and then hang it.

For example, fumblehead just mined for nearly 2 months in a row to get to 3000, also to get over a minute something for super breaker so the rhythm for levelling up is just 'nice' .. only to find out f.e. that after 7 seconds, the exp drops from 100% to 40% and then dies..

The result is: you start an ability, do it for 15 seconds tops, and then you can /home because the rest is useless in regards to the 'mcmmo' ability.

Those extra 'perks' are now removed.

Your staff told me it's not a contest, but if you also tell me it's not a perk, then i dunno what's left in that plugin besides getting more music disks to drop.

not 1 - 99%, because that's exprate 0.

Ok, i overlooked this (eyes must be tired). Glad to hear feedback isn't ignored and reconsidered. I hope the change has a bit better effect. Thank you.

Is the Green Thumb ability meant to work for wheat?

A long time ago I noticed it would autoplant wheat, but using the harvested wheat rather than the seeds.

I tested just now and despite having a 100% Green Thumb chance, it's not working with either seeds or wheat.
Is this intentional or a bug?

Hmm. Nevermind, now it's working again, but only some of the time.

Idk, not that big a complaint, I was just curious :)
