Title: Minecraft 1.6 Update Information
Post by: ItsLawrence on 30 Jun 2013, 23:26:08: The server has now been updated to 1.6 please follow the instructions given in the client for information on how to upgrade your launcher.

As most of you will know already Minecraft 1.6 is planned for release sometime tomorrow (Monday, 1st of July). This update will not go live on Noobstown at the same time as the client update is released. As normal; it will take us time to update our server files, and as such we recommend you do not update straight away. We will make a public post here on the site when we have updated so that you can too.

This new update involves a brand new launcher, which will of course need downloading to play once we've updated. An update for this client is likely to be posted on Mojang.com (http://mojang.com/), I'll update this post once we have more information regarding this (and we'll be sure to explain it once we update the server too).

I'd like to stress though that our update to Minecraft 1.6 will not be the release of V6, and announcements will be posted separately regarding this as it gets closer.

so by all means get it

when you have the new launcher you can just play on the old launcher until it gets updated
You can also play on the new launcher in single player to play around with all the new stuff

On the new launcher you can update between 4 versions of minecraft I think it is

Silverwolfje started a thread which shows you how to do that so that you can still play noobscraft while being on the new launcher

Thanks Olah and Wolfie for that info. When we do upgrade to 1.6 though, ...I call dibs on the hardened clay market! :D

Becuase some ppl would come on the server for a day tame 10 dogs, 2 horses, and 5 cats and never return to the server leavening theise things to wander around and do nothing

This was when he was a mod. It was during the 2012 Christmas celebration we did at Floris's fishing dock. ^_^
