Yes, but sadly not all servers use MCBans so they can still cause terror on other servers. As for the simpler registration, i believe it will allow easier access for griefers. Joe once told me that the registration would reduce the amount of griefers because they would not want to fill out a form, and if they did and failed, they surely wouldn't try again. Now that it is easier, they are more inclined to go through the time it takes to get registered. This is true, but we got so many complaints such as, "I can not apply for membership, I don't see any signs, I need to wait 30 minutes, mod, can you please make a member?" Plus this makes it much easier on us and the user registering. Some players don't even take the time out to activate an email, so that still might reduce griefers, plus we are totally capable of rolling back anything that is destroyed in the main world.
Your argument is logical, for the most part. But for when you state, it reduces stress on Mods, because of less nagging about registration, but take all of those questions, and convert them, to complaints about griefing, or foul play. I feel those are harsher things to be nagged about. Just something for thought. You are right, there are in most cases harsher things to be nagged about, I see your point.
... to complaints about griefing, or foul play.Yes this is very true, but if we look at it from our angle; we can deal with the greifing, thus the complaint from the player is reduced. Aswith the reg system, if they mess up, or something else goes wrong, we have nothing to be able to fix that with, all we can do is trouble shoot with them.
