Title: Cross Platform Compatibility!
Post by: Seedoub1eyou on 21 Oct 2017, 19:21:32
Just curious if there will ever be an updated version of the server that will allow
Cross platform access?

In  the most basic explination, cross platform compatibility between the java version of minecraft (which is what the server runs on and what most people on here are playing) and the windows 10/xbox/pocket edition is impossible because they are both programmed in different languages.

There's actually some concern in the Minecraft community that the Better Together platform (i.e. the mobile/Win10 side) will be enphazised going forward at the expense of the Java version.   :O

As others have explained, the cross-platform version of Minecraft is at the moment a completely different game to the version that Noobstown runs on. We currently have no plans to change to that, unless Mojang makes it easy to do so in the future and it makes sense. As of 1.12.2 we currently run on what is now known as "Minecraft: Java Edition".
