Title: I want to secure my house but I don't know how and how much noobs

I want to make sure my house is safe from griefing and creepers because my brothers home a 100 blocks away was griefed but I don't know how I can do this or how much it's gonna cost me.
can someone help me with this?

Be sure to protect 1 below your house though, to ensure the floor is protected to stop people from digging in through the bottom. ;)
