I have seen and also had problems with Minecraft crashing and doing a black screen and do not think its the server it is your actual Minecraft and this is a link to help you guys and girls with the problem which helped me. Also if you just get disconnected then yes it is the server and this does not need reading.

P.S Their is a difference between server and Minecaft crash.
