Hello there, this is buckie and I need some hard working people for Glasgow

I have learnt a lot in the past few months, I had a lot of TA's and I began to understand that a lot of TA's just doesn't cut it, especially when they don't even do anything to improve the town. Its something that I won't be doing again, the highest amount of TA's that will be in this town is 6.

A TA isn't so you can be higher than everyone else in the town, a TA in my eye's is someone that is dedicated to the town and wants to improve it all the time. They must be hard working and enjoy building and destroying things, they must be helpful with all the residents whenever a resident needs help, they must know all the town commands that are available to them(they will be listed on this application), and they must understand all the TA rules(will also be listed here). If I ever ask you for help, you need to come straight away, no excuses like, "oh but I'm doing something else right now" or "ok give me an hour and ill be there", this is unacceptable.

Being a town assistant is hard work! Lots of digging, mining, cutting, building, destroying, helping residents. DO NOT apply for TA unless you are up to the job! Its a very big responsability and if I or any of the head Ta's see you slacking in any way, you will be stricken off.

I will be looking at this post regularly, do not tell me in-game that you have done an application or, "can I be a TA now?" It just hinders your chances. When I have looked at your app and decided if you are going to be a TA or not you will get a message from me saying that you have be chosen or not been chosen.

TOWN ASSISTANT RULES:

RULE 1:
Do not ever disrespect, bully or verbally abuse the residents in any way or anyone else for that matter.

RULE 2:
Do not make your own plot or shop plot.

RULE 3:
Do not build or destroy without my knowing of it.
RULE BROKEN?

RULE4:
Do not claim land without my knowing of it.
RULE BROKEN?
Pay all noobs back with the land that you just claimed plus a warning.
BROKEN AGAIN?
TA taken

RULE 5:
Do not take away a residents plot or put it up for sale unless they have been off for 1 month
RULE BROKEN?
TA Rank taken

NOTE: If you are inactive for 2 weeks without notice your TA rank will be taken. Make sure either me or one of the head TA's knows of your absence be four you go.

TOWN ASSISTANT COMMANDS

BASIC TOWN & PLOT COMMANDS
The TA can use almost every command the mayor can use, I will list the most important one's here,

/town claim(/t claim)
Will claim the 16x16 chunk you are standing on(For each chunk it costs 2,500nbz, do not claim without my permition)

/town unclaim(/t unclaim)
Will unclaim the 16x16 chunk you are standing on

/plot forsale(/plot fs)
Will put the 16x16 chunk that you are standing on up for sale as a plot(you can only do this when you have claimed the land)

/plot notforsale(/plot nfs)
Will take the plot down that is for sale

/town deposit(amount)
Will take noobs that you own into the town deposit(You will need to do this regularly if you want to be a TA)

/town add(player name)
Will invite the player to town(make sure they read all the rules before you add them! This is very important!)

/town kick(player name)
Will kick the selected player from town

SETTING COMMANDS
When you have made a plot and you want change it to an embassy or shop:

/plot set embassy
Will set the plot you are standing on as an embassy plot

/plot set shop
Will set the plot you are standing on as a shop plot

/plot set reset
Will reset the plot back to its ordinary state

TAX COMMANDS

/town set shoptax(amount)
Will set the towns shops to tax paying shops

/town set plottax(amount)
Will set the towns plots to tax paying plots

/town set embassytax(amount)
Will set the towns embassy plots to tax paying embassy plots

It is most likely that you will not need to use the tax commands, the shops are already paying tax but I do not see anything else paying tax in the near future.

TOWN DEPOSITING

You may have seen the command "/town deposit" up on the list, if you want to be a TA you must put noobs into the deposit for the towns development and upkeep, it is the TA's duty to do this as well as the mayor. The town's daily upkeep is 850nbs and the town development is particularly expensive so we need noobs going into the deposit all the time. Don't worry if you don't have a lot of noobs, I'm not talking loads of noobs, only what you can afford, every noob counts.

APPLICATION STEPS:

I want you to take a look around town(/town spawn Glasgow) and I want you to look at it carefully, I want to know what you would do to improve the town and what you would like to do as a TA.

Tell me about yourself, have you had any past experience with towns or TA work?

How are with people in a group, do you prefare to be lead or to be the leader?

Post by: clownman21 on 6 Jul 2012, 17:09:44: I looked around the town for quite awhile because I live there. the changes I changes would make to the town as TA would be to add more houses, create more mines for people, and help them have a fair and good time at our town buckfast_abby. I want to see more people living in the town because, I think it is the best one so far! if I become TA I will make it better than it already is.

I have not had any experience with towns or TA but if you let me become TA im sure I will get the job done if you let me try. I will try my hardest to make sure people who just started will be able to have a house in this town to buy when your, offline or not.

I prefer to be a leader so that people can be helped in our town when they need it. I hope you will pick me for town assistant in your awesome town!

I like to be a leader because I often help other people

I would love to become a TA so i can be the officail town farmer. i love farming and would die to do it. i looked at the farms. and they all look great. but some things i would to to modify them would be...i would make the pumkin and melon farm next to each other, i would put put a bigger chest for extra seeds for the wheat, i would make a farm shed, to store the materials and supplies needed for a farm. that way it would make it easier to get the things you need to farm, insted of having to run back and forth to your house.

My name is Rodrick Buckner. I love to ride bikes, run track, play vollyball, swim, play baseball and basketball. Im a family person, so i love to be around kids. And i also llove working with other people who would need my assistance. So if i were to become a TA, i would make it in my best honor, to help and teach anything abbout farming. I have had TA experience. My specialty in farming. i made the farms, and taught and hired some helpers to help out with the farm when im not on.

Like i said before, i love working and teaching other people about farming. ive done it all my life, even in real life. thats why i love it so much on games. working with the people about farming is amazing. they love to hear and learn about how to farm and the spaecail techniques there are to it. Whether or not im the lead or the leader, i love to farm and i love helping others do it. so either way it goes, both me and them would be happy. :)

All of the people are kind and generous, and even Buckie is one of the most polite mayors ive known! I really like building and constructing different structures in minecraft. I also like mining for long periods of time by myself or in groups. I would like to improve the signs on the road because sometimes when its directing me to go somewhere, I end up getting lost. I also like helping people so they can be happy with the city. I also would like to help construct some type of place in buckfast like an amusement park or water park or something of that sort because it woild be one of the only amusement/water parks on the noobscraft server and then it would make the city more popular for that.

My real name is Alicia, I skateboard, swim, ride fourwheelers (id die for fourwheeling),swimming, shopping, drawing and art,I love taking care of my pets, im usually used to giving people assistance because i am the oldest sibling and the 2nd oldest cousin.

So yea I hope this application helps, and I hope I can help the town by being a town assistant.

I've never been TA do to the fact that this is my first town server other then Minecraft Tunnel witch doesn't have the
plugin Towny. I am a group person I seem do do better when I can help people or the can help me. I often am leader of things like Factions or stuff like that. I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my application.

The problem in this town is that theres not much fun, it look amazing but it need to have more Entertaining places. Such as Carnival, MiniGames, and town events.

I'm looking forward to work my hardest to make this town become the town that I dreamed of, and that this town should be more Fun and Active.

I'm a Redstone Player, I love to make things with redstone, things that function with redstone, and Many more.
I love video gaming on minecraft, it's a genius way to make it a "GameCeption".

1. Buckfast needs more cool buildings like at the spawn. I mean it looks great already but it just needs more than that.

2. the shops suck. i have my own problems paying rent becuz its expensive but the plot costs so dang much. and the shops arent even that great. :(

3. there should be exciting things. like a roller coaster or piston games or something.

4. lastly, Buckfast needs to get more space. an outpost or two and more plots. i know its hard to do that when the minecraft world is small, but theres always a way. :)

Post by: iXinner on 25 Jul 2012, 03:34:35: I've taken the last(my first) few days to have a look around Buckfast Abby and I've noticed that most of the town residents have been missing for long periods of time(inactive possibly?). Not only are the residents gone for long periods of time, but the staff is failing to "assist" (hence Town Assistant) new players/residents (as far as I can tell) and is failing to fully contribute to fellow staff members. Seeing the current state of Buckfast Abby, I'm writing this application for TA in order to bring our players together to form a close community where each resident is a unique individual. As TA I will be able to contribute to town projects, introduce new players to our friendly community, and further build it. I am able to take responsibility, set my priorities, and lead others. I will do my best to assist my fellow town residents and work towards a better Buckfast Abby.

My name is Robert and I'm an incoming junior this upcoming school year. I'm a fan of EDM, drumstep, dubstep, modern trance and techno. I'm a dancer (both choreography and bboy). I am of asian ethnicity. I speak English and Vietnamese fluently and am currently learning French. I've played minecraft ever since beta. I've had experience with running a server(I know the feeling of having a lot of tedious work Buckie) but this is the first time I've ever encountered a plugin regarding to "towns". I've never had official written proof of TA work but I'm consistent when I pledge to assists others and work diligently.

As a leader (since I believe that I am able to take charge where others are fearful of the consequences of doing something wrong) I'm efficient, friendly, and active. People easily get to trust me as a responsible individual and I'm hard to forget. In a group I'm usually the one with the authority, if I can say myself I am the "glue that keeps us together". I prefer to lead, but if one individual, or more believes he/she/they can take better charge, I will listen if I believe he/she/they is an effective leader.

I dont want to be a TA just to stand around and give plots away. I am here to help the residents of this town and also the mayor. I have been a TA for many towns in this server, (for example) I was a TA of Sandstorm it sounded like a great oppertunity Samson4258, but in the end he never was the active mayor I was looking for. Today I have found a wonderful oppertunity not only for me but for the town of Glasgow. I promise to help out the town the best of my ablitity. I am on this aplication forum to help keep Glasgow running for as long as I can. If all TA's and the mayor work together i think this will be accomplished. Wait let me rephrase that I know we will accomplish making this one of the best towns in Noobscraft.Thank you for your time.

I have seen the town grow from 7 people to 80 or 90 people and still growing. I have had past experance from TA in Buckfast but lost it when i went on vacation for 2 months (it make sense). I think we can improve the town by making a more effective tree farm and or a bigger one. thanks for reading,

Post by: Fixza on 29 Jul 2012, 22:39:21: i have lived in glasgow for a while now and have two plots there. i know most the town quite well and know where all the main parts are e.g tree farm and the farm. to improve the town i would help build new structures and facilities for the people of glasgow. i have not had any experience as a TA but i like helping people and think it would be a fun job. in a group i dont mind both leading and taking orders and i believe i work well with others but at the same time can lead a group. thanks

As a TA i would like to create land for all the players that do not break the rules of the town, i would also provide materials our community needs.

I have run my own server in the past so i understand what i am doing with commands and rules, I have run my own towns on past servers so i understand how to keep a town alive.

STEP 3:
How are with people in a group, do you prefare to be lead or to be the leader?

In a group i like to work with a leader to try to advise ideas or improvements on what the leader suggests, What i mean by this is if the leader suggested an idea on what to do to improve the town i would then try to think of a better way that the leader would agree with.

In the future the TA slots will possibly be put up to 10, now that will be the max, it will never be any higher than that. This will not happen straight away, as I said it will possibly happen in the future.

I looked around town. And the thing I think there hould be is an easier/faster/simpler way to get to the embassy plots from the shop plots and vice versa. But everything else is great!

STEP 2
Um if by tell you about my self you mean like minecraft? then I've been play since Minecraft was just starting, I have alot of experience on multiplayer (I.E. I know how to deal with people) I have never dissrespected anybody on minecraft (irl is another story haha ;D) and I love this town, so Naturaly I wanted to help out.

STEP 3:
I work best in a group on Minecraft. and Im good at being a follower. Im not the BEST at leading though xP

I wish to apply for a Town Assistant. Alas, I knew that I could never earn up enough money to make a town. Expecially now, post-Price increase. But here I am. The Fifth member of your town, (Besides you :3) Applying for this so I can apply my building skills that have recently been wasted on my own Sad Village. This is the day that I share my skill. And that I learn. And so, here is the rest of my Application.

Step 1: I have been in Buckfast since my second day on the server. I fell in love with it. And even after nearly all my friends packed up and left, I stayed. Intent on seeing this town become great. They said it couldn't be done. We proved them wrong. Buckfast is a very nice town- But, The Structural system is a bit... Lacking. For instance, I see these "Floating Platforms" and thing... What an Eyesore. Buckie, you know what I am talking about. You build all these nice things, for them juts to be smothered in some other buildings. I will attempt to re-shape the system, prohibiting some things, while appealing these in some cases.
And, you know me buckie! I build... And Build... And Build... And Build...

Step 2: I was once a mayor myself, on a nice server called "Montropolis". But, alas, as with all good things, it came to an end. I also acted as an assistant under one town on another server. But that was only while my friend was gone.

Step 3: In groups, I can be either. I do not like one more than the other. Althought, being a leader does kind of stress.

Well, I was the Fifth member in the town. Even though it would be kind of... "Cheating" I ask that you take that into consideration.

There is a possability that the TA slot will be put up to 10 in the future, the town is getting very big now and we will be having more residents coming in soon due to the more plots ptoject.

Read the information at the start of this post, you must know all the rules and understand them. You must know all the commands etc, everything is there for you to know. After and ONLY after you have read everything at top, you set out your application. DO NOT make an application without reading everything up top.

I will accept people that aren't a part of Glasgow yet, I will have to gain a bit of trust with you first of course, so outsiders are welcome to make an application also.

To begin with I wouldn't physically use my own ideas to improve the town, I'd like to be a TA for whenever you need assistance, I'd be there within five minutes (Time taking to get my gear). I'd help with new players, clearing land, building plots or even building town buildings if need be, I'm not the best builder in the world, nor would I say I was the worst.

STEP 2
Tell me about yourself, have you had any past experience with towns or TA work?

Yes, I've been a mayor of four-ish towns. First town was Balcombe, it was a medieval town made by myself in v4, but it ended due to losing motivation when multiple residents left to other towns for a variety of reasons. Second town was the first MapleForge, made at the very end of v4, that ended for obvious reasons, we upgraded to v5. The third town I made (Beginning of v5) was also named MapleForge, I became distracted by things that didn't occur in minecraft and I lost my co-owner/head TA from computer problems. I wasn't being as dedicated as I should have been, I handed the town over to another member named Silver_Gunsmith and he left it to die from low funds in the town bank. Big mistake on my behalf... The third town I purchased was the current MapleForge which is now owned by my cousin, DjDazzy2011. The reason I 'gave up' on that town was because of my inactivity again, not being online enough to help new players, I didn't have any TAs that understood how Towny works and how you need to build plots on chunks etc so all the pressure was on me.

STEP 3:
How are with people in a group, do you prefare to be lead or to be the leader?

I feel I done good as a leader for MapleForge, but I'm sure people would see me as a slacker for having so many corrupted towns. I'd say being lead would fit me better than leading.

Post by: mufc1997 on 13 Oct 2012, 13:58:22: Well firstly i have been thinking of a few ways the town could be changed not improved as it does not need it but maybe a more direct route to the houses and other plots maybe even a new area full of free plots, but this is not the main reason that i would like to become a TA, The main reason is to help out more around the town with the removal of houses from inactive members. Allthough most people want TA to ''improve'' the town i merely want it to help out more than i can as a regular member.

Secondly, i have not had any experience with as TA on this server but i have on another server, i was the only TA of a town called MinesVille. The town itself was huge it had just over 160 players, but that server went down recently and i was unable to find the new ip for the server so i found a new Towny server to play on.

Thirdly, I would great in groups but and i prefer to be a leader but leading with someone else.
