Title: Town Guards

So I saw a long time ago on one of your teaser clips that there are town guards protecting Noobstown. Are these town guards going to be available to buy for other towns? I would love having sort of a sentry at the entrance and inside of all the important buildings.

If they are available to buy, how much per, what OS the limit in a town, and how much health do they have?

If not available, we needs to have zem

I don`t think that there is ability to set custom NPC`S (guards), But it would be cool idea to give that option to the players.

Well I'm talking like mayors only cause they'd be protecting the town from monsters and stuff

Technically speaking it wouldn't even be necessary because hostile mobs spawning can be disabled (and is disabled by default) within towns borders.

On the other hand, it would be cool as an aesthetic feature. As long as they don't do the villagers "hmm" sound.

Since those would be permanent entities, I can see how that could be a problem even if limited to a very few per town since the number of towns can only go up and never decrease.
Nothing prevents people from creating 100+ towns resulting in dead weight for the server and possibly reducing the performance of the dynamic spawn system they explained earlier.

Also, if hostile mobs were enabled the guards would eventually be killed. So the server would have to either spawn them indefinitely or make them invulnerable.

Option A would could be an even worse problem, Option B could trivialize resource gathering.

That said, I'd immensely prefer to have 2 permanent sheeps in town instead of X guards.

Would the town guard be there to keep me put lol. They would have been useful in the Thunderhaven vs (iforgtwhaturtown was called) war lol. Best of luck on ur town Harry

It was Capitol and it wasn't my town. And no the town guards would mostly just be there for aesthetic purposes - to look cool, that is. And thanks, best of luck to you and whatever town you may create/join

Ya, prolly for aesthetic purposes. Maybe you could 'ban' ppl from ur town, and the guards would kill anyone who was banned who comes. You shld get them when you reach a certain amount of residents maybe. It might be cool

That would be awesome. Or if the admins implemented Towny Wars to V6, (maybe a suggestion after towns reach so many members?) the guards protect against members of the enemy town! That would be a sight to see, 50 armed guards chasing a guy trying to get food from a shop >:(

these ones are programmed to attack any hostile mob that comes near them.

while these are programmed to kill you if you come anywhere near them.

most of them are over powered, they are a one hit kill to you, they take like 50 damage to kill, and they respawn after 3 sec when they die. you can change the armor, weapons, and strength of them. i'm not saying we would use these, but im giving you an idea of what theyd be like.

(yes everyone else, I do lead those soldiers on that server as Head Guard of the fortress)
