Hey all, so today Fatnoob gave us some great news! We will be gettong noobstown V6! The only thing is... we loose EVERYTHING, so this might sound a bit selfish, but I don't really want to play anymore. I have worked so hard on my fortune, and put so much work into this server, which I love, but I don't have anything to do now. I have made many great friends on this server, which I still plan on talking to, but there just really isn't a point of playing much anymore. So, yeah

The new map is no reason to quit the community. I have been through four map resets where I lost everything. It is hard at first, but you'll get over it, and you'll end up loving the new map and everything to come with it.

Stick around for a while! Always good to have people stay part of the community.

Yes I agree, a new version is fine, but I've played plenty of other servers and games where new versions / updates do not mean destroying every user's growth and development.

I have the same feeling as you tom but I'm also kinda excited because I get to learn from my mistakes that I did. I might lose all my precious stuff but it'll be fun to restart

I kinda agree with Tom. I mean what's the point in playing until the new update if we're just going to lose everything we've worked hard on in the mean time? I don't feel like playing for awhile because there's really no point. It is selfish and it is kinda silly but it's one of those things....it's amazing how attached we can get to a virtual world. I've worked really really hard to get to where I'm at now and even that isn't very much, 100K in the bank. That's not a lot compared to what some people have but for me, and what I've done to get to that point is a lot. The time triumphs the money. This is the biggest issue I have with the new updates. Everything else seems to be perfect and seems to be a step in the right direction. I also saw someone say that we lose all the stuff in our enderchests as well? That's a crock too. Do you know all the rare things I have in my enderchest that I will lose then too.....this is just really upsetting and it's pathetic that it is, but it's true.

Hey, I understand your point of view with the fact continuing to play may seem pointless. We are currently working on a system of rewarding users that continue to play throughout the month or so before the change, such as points that can be spent in v6 and other rewards. We'll try work something out that's best for everyone, we don't want to lose any of you guys, you are what make the server not the wealth of your account or digits next to your skills - The people and friends the server has brought together.

I appreciate and understand all the hard work that has been put into the server and this new update and I really hope you guys take into consideration what everyone is saying. As I said, I'm okay with all the other updates, I think they'll be beneficial and great for the server and make playing on the server a better experience for everyone. But the fact that we lose everything is the most upsetting to me. But thank you to all your hard work.

Well said, Foob. This is not the end, just an end. I have been through resets before, and I am sure it will happen again at some point. The staff here wants everyone (*everyone*) to have a good time and get the most out of the server, and if a reset is what it takes that is what will be done. This gives everyone else a chance to catch me, and me a chance to catch Twistedlover.

I haven't been on this server for long, but the amount of fun gameplay I've had with my newly made friends can never be replaced. Nor can the builds I've made or helped make. I've worked hard in the time I've been on the server to get to where I am, 300k in the bank, which may not be a lot to some others, but to me it's a reminder of fun times with friends and a good time on this server. Then to find out after a fantastic night, that everything is being ripped away after everything you've done. This may seem childish and I know it's only a game and that the new world will be fun... But it's the old world with memories, that are soon going to be non-existent except in our memory, but what is that compared to proof? All his negativity the new world brings to me, doesn't make it seem worth it to stay. This server has been a fantastic experience for me, making me forget about a lot of offline stress, but now it will be gone.

Hey Tomb,

It's sad reading this, as you may be one of those to leave us. I hope you change your mind, really do.. but I would just like to make a couple of things clear... previously in the past we have had quite a few version changes, much more frequent than it has been the change we are seeing now. I promise you that any memories shared in the server will be taken with you, a build may resemble a lot of things to you in terms of memories and fun times but those can be replaced. As long as the people you love and care about are coming along to the new version, there are many new memories that can be shared time and time again, many memories that will stay there for a very long time.

The main reason we feel this is a necessary change is due to the fact that these builds are so important to each and everyone of you, currently we cannot provide protection for them you will continue to be griefed time and time again, we want to put a stop to that.. seriously put griefing to bed. Everything in the new version will be solid, every single block you place will not be touched - The only people who can touch those are yourself.

I hope you understand my point of view and see this update for the better, I am quite upset that we may be losing such a dedicated member of the community and that the one place you find peace will be removed. I do hope you come back and find peace again on the server, wouldn't be the same without you.

I'm glad you've come around a little, it will be for the better I don't want anyone taking such rash decisions. I understand the news had come as a shock, we did not mean to upset anyone but sometimes you need to embrace change, sometimes change is awkward but once it happens everything will fall into place. We'll back to where we always were, the community needs people like you - All of you. I know that you are so passionate about the server, that's why I feel the need to respond. I'm not giving up on you guys, we are going to make Noobstown v6 epic.

Hey all,

I admit, that my feelings are split. On one hand, I agree with everyone that says that the reset is bad because it will ultimately make them lose everything. I, like others, have worked hard for what I currently have. But like the admins, I understand the necessity to reset the map every now and then in order to maintain a certain level of equality among players and to simply restart the server. I'm not going to tell anyone what to do, but I suggest that everyone just continue to play as if nothing new will happen. Enjoy the present because you never know what might happen tomorrow. But not only that, stick around for a little bit after the reset as well. You never know, you may find that you like the new server more than the old one.

While I know I'm going to be losing everything, I'm really excited. The first reason why I enjoyed Minecraft so much was because of the vulnerability in the beginning. But what single player lacked was friends to play with

I've (hopefully) established some friends in this server, and we are all going to be restarting together (again, hopefully) and it will be fun, of that I have no doubt. Really, I'm just trying to say, "Stick around for a couple days after reset, you might really enjoy it!"

I 100000% agree. I am debating whether to keep playing, because I can't deal with losing everything. I donated to this server, because I liked it the way it was. I feel that this new version is gonna change that to much, and make it not seem like what it was made to be. I spent 7 months getting money and materials for a town, and I finally got one. It is my pride, joy, and shows my true dedication to this server. And Fatnoob, when you said new people feel like they are in a hole, behind everyone else, this new version won't change that. With a server that grows in population a lot like noobstown, there will always be new people. You can't stop new people from coming, and feeling like they are in a hole. The great MC'ers are the people who can push that aside, and not let that stop them, and catch up to everyone else. So many people who have earned a reputation will lose it. You might think this will give new people and opportunity to shine, but it won't. The new people will keep coming. All the work people have done in the past year is down the drain. And the new wilderness idea of making people purchase land? Come on! The whole point of the wilderness was for people who couldn't afford plots to be able to build and have fun playing on the server. It also makes it so people can build huge structures, without the server 4 plot maximum. I have so much more I could say, but I will leave it at that. The server is fine the way it is, and to update means to take away everyones legacies.

I'm just gonna give a hard and honest reply on this,
Quitting because of a reset is kinda stupid.. in both cases you lose, if you quit you lose your items and if you stay you lose it.
Simple as that, if youre dedicated and loyal to the server you stay, if you have enough of it you just leave, now its always a shame that people leave, but its just the way it is nothing to be done about it.

Now the choise is just up to you, be or not to be? -keralis (lol)
