On the topic of respect. . . TP'ing
« on: 3 Jul 2011, 01:09:15 »
Dear V.I.P.s,

I respect the contribution to this server, and I acknowledge that
it is one decision that I have yet to make and thus why you have abilities that
I do not have, such as the option to TP to anyone, anywhere, anytime.

[Fast Forward >>]

. . .I find it to be an invasion of space when you spontaneously TP to me. I for one
do not mind it on the terms that I have already given you permissions to appear at my
place as so. However, if I do not know or trust you, it would be very considerate of you to
restrain yourself from randomly teleporting
to me, or anyone for that matter.
It's yielding issues and tension.

Sometimes people do it by mistake, and I understand. I usually just ask you to leave
politely (at first). I don't take this matter really seriously enough to actually complain about it
in the form of a thread in within the forums unless an issue has arisen. . . .

That is, do not teleport to my private section. Do not ignore me after I repeated several times
politely until I became frustrated for you to leave.
Also, do not instead scout the perimeter
of my entire room attempting to what it seems, loot my chest
s. I did not catch the animation of
you tapping every chest in my room in this photo, however, I do have two witnesses for those
accounts. And last but not least, do not give the excuse that you just wanted to see what was
in my chests(which you didn't tell me), for anyone (including you) who has been in my private
section knows that above every chest in that room is a sign noting what is being stored in every one.

This is not a ban request. Nothing has been stolen. This is simply to raise awareness. TP'ing
with out permission is one thing. Having ill-intentions while doing it is another
and something I
am not wiling to tolerate. This is the 5th time in the past 1.5 weeks that I have had to deal
with this. You are not only disrespecting my space, you are also disrespecting the reputation
of V.I.P.'s

There may be 3 weeks and a half weeks left in this map, but the rules of the server still apply.

Yes, this "tp'ing" issue is really on the uprise with new people jointing our server everyday and new donations almost everyday.
Along with the fact that i am starting to see that sometimes day-week old "noobs" of the server are donating just to get these abilities.
As with these "noobs" they have a tedious grasp of the server rules and are making these mistakes and don't know or care enough to leave when politely leave.
This matter is made worse when we have "Ignorant and disrespectfull" V.I.P's that abuse these powers and think that being a VIP and donating to the server makes them "untouchable" by the rules, not only basic, but other players privacy.

I think we need to stop and rethink the way VIPs use the power as soon as possable. I know foob and all the other admins/ops are looking into this, i think we need to increase the priority of the problem

This happened twice within 5 minutes to him, not naming names, but said person tp'd to me while I was with junni. The person in violation; asked me a question in global and tp'd to me without me giving my answer.  Junni asked him to leave, but he lingered until we had to make threats.

He not only invaded my space, but attempted to
loot my belongings. Please exercise control over your kin.

I no longer have any issues with names. I will, from this point on
call you out if you invade mine, or the space of any other on this server.
So yes, the person whom tyja was referring to, MetalThrust, you also
need to give great attention to this thread, because this, my friend is
a concept to which you stumble to grasp quite frequently. I will take
no hard feelings for it as long as you discontinue this malpractice.

Also just know, I was near joe (as he was afk), when metal thought he would "see what joe was doing" and tp'd to him. Joe was in a secluded area and im sure doesnt want ppl knowing he position. I dont know what compeled him to do that, but further proves our point on abuse of tping.

I think i heard ringburn saying they are taking away this TP ability of the VIPs due to problems like this. I personally cannot wait, there have been more and more complaints about this. Not all VIPs do this, but i have had ppl teleporting in on me quite a few times.

This has been really upsetting to me to see this happen so much. I find the tp command extremely useful when my friends and I are exploring or mining together, we have given each other permission to do so and it saves us a lot of tp accept commands.

What also upsets me is seeing how many people who are inexperienced with the server will donate right away. I haven't been here long either, but I waited over a month to donate. I didn't do it for any reason other than to help with server costs.

I feel like a white list is a great idea as the server is growing rapidly and is becoming more difficult to police. When I first started on the server, there seemed to be a lot more respect between players.

well the reason why we had more respect between each other is because the server was quite small... then fatnoob removed the whitelist then we got around 5-8 little immature kids joining every day... and now.. its out of control

It's unfortunate. Do you think the white list will help to weed out some of the problems?

white list will be our best friend

and as for that i would if he lived closer lol. but with him at a distance just threaten him with the fact you will tell me and he may joke around but just post on forums and ill get him lol. he knows im very good at torture. haha. poor kid had to grow up with me. so he has been punish a lot.

i dont think he has read this servers rules. most servers that him and i played on had the rule of if your chests are not locked its free loot. so that might be my fault for not informing him of that rule not existing here lol. so i do apologize for that.

Actually, we don't think we can evade rules or discipline. We are just tired of having to request to teleport, and are using what we were given. Also, it is very rude to post a screenshot of someone teleporting when they just need to do one thing. And maybe you should be nice to the Vip's and ploitely ask them to leave instead of saying "Out" or "Get out" or anything like that.

battler would you like it if some one randomly tped to you ransacked your hose then refused to leave? i hightly doubt it
i try not to tp to people with out there permistion. but its easyer when they do say i can beacuse its simpler but it only saves a maximum of 10 seconds so its not big deal if it is removed but i agree its a problem

It would be very nice if you read the details of the screenshot
also, instead of basing your reply upon a picture. If you would
also read and pay a little more attention to the context you would
see that I am referring to one VIP. The specific one in this picture.
Lets look at what you misconstrue by neglecting to read.

1) I asked him several times politely several times to leave before
I lost my tolerance and took this screenshot because at that point I
finalized the decision to post this picture. This picture does not account
for the few minutes before when I asked him why he was here and
what he wanted. I then politely asked him to leave. He ignored it, so
I typed larger letters for his own visualization.

2) It's very rude to teleport to some one's place when they weren't
giving permission and attempt to loot your chests and then not leave
after asking them politely to leave. Asking VIP's to leave doesn't work
you should know that first hand.

3) It doesn't matter whether you tell someone to "get out","Leave NOW"
or "please leave". It is all English for you to understand that you aren't
supposed to be in that destination, or at that time.  So when you know
you aren't supposed to be there, you leave as soon as possible because
you can insinuate by the words of the other party, that what you are
doing is wrong and could lead you into trouble. If you don't heed those
words, if could lead you into trouble.

I mean no offense by saying, you probably should not be defending
the invasion of others spaces.According the Ban Reports, you were one
of the first cases to be reported of this. You not only TP'd to someone,
but you also dug in their mine after after they "ask him(you) nicely to leave".

This isn't argument. I will not waste my time debating whether TP'ing is
an invasion or not, or whether this child has done wrong or not. There
is nothing up to debate here. I will leave off of a quote from Joe himself that
established the boundaries of TP'ing . . .

VIPs are no different to ordinary players in terms of rules, they are allowed to TP but should not invade peoples personal space. When asked to leave they should do so not take over your mine that you wanted to work on.

There is nothing left more to discuss in this thread.

I did see it, but I actually have the common courtesy to not steal other peoples' diamonds, or any other ore for that matter.

Well I don't 'Randomly TP, ransack the house, and refuse to leave' like you accuse other Vips to do. Also, it is impossible to ransack peoples' houses on the server.

It does not matter anymore, because you
lack the understanding and responsibility
of said powers, it has been removed and
VIP's are no longer allowed to TP. Thank
you very much Battler and Colinjaydeoppelt.
