Can't find a good place for a house?

I found that the two best places for a house are either in a jungle or on a tiny island surrounded with nothing but water. I have provided you with a survival guide to survive these conditions.

JUNGLE- Dense, wet, and fell of creeper repellent. That is right i am talking about cats. You can get some cats and surround your area to prevent creeper attacks or surprise visits. Also since the place is covered in bushes and trees making wood gathering easy and simple.  Also for the Newbies you can climb vines making access to your house limited to only spiders. Since spiders have a hard time climbing through 1x1 holes you can make a floor entrance with a trapdoor. This makes your house literally impenetrable to mobs. Cats are hard to find so waiting until light is always recommended and a small assortment of food and armor is also recommended. When possible make a small lake in front of your house to have a ready supply of food.

ISLAND- The only good thing about a small island isolated from griefers is the lack of mobs. Since you are playing on a multiplayer server buying the necessary materials should be easy. I recommend arriving on this island with a sword, shovel, pickaxe, hoe, 12 wooden logs, 1 sapling, some food, seeds(doesn't matter what kind), and some torches. This will prevent unwanted mobs from spawning and will also give you a clear view to any mobs in the water. A small shelter is recommended and  will allow for easy repair is necessary. A straight down mineshaft is also recommended because of the surrounding water. Dig down at least 18 blocks before making any attempt to make a mineshaft. Also because of this convenient set up ladders will allow for easy Mob escapes and traps. Since small slimes are the only mob that can climb a 1x1 ladder hole they make for easy experience and slime. You also want to start a small farm to start off with and slowly expand to encroach some territory. When enough land has been reached hostile mobs should start spawning so place torches, Glowstone, or lamps to keep your island lit up. When enough material is gathered an Iron Golem is recommended for easy Mob farming and safety from mobs. Iron Golems do not attack creepers or slimes.

If this guide to safe and easy living was helpful please add respect or leave a comment to give me any more information or give me any other ideas.

I would also add the recommendation of iron armor+ before mining. It helps with creepers and is repairable at level one. I'd also like to add when using iron golems on an island, they will constantly fall into the water, and are unable to get out without assistance, so be sure to use fences or 1x1 perimeter to stop their shenanigans. And stone swords work best while mining because of the abundancy, along with buckets and a full stack of dirt/cobble. I would recommend to bring 5+ stone pick's if you intend to stay for a long mining trip, along with 10+ bread. Works best with a partner and the /tpa [name] command. Thanks for reading! <3

About the golems i completely forgot about them. The safest way to stop them i found is to just expand the land to at least a 20x20 area so they have free space to roam around. Unless there is a hostile mob right next to the water then they have no problem with the falling in part.

I would say you should start off in mine world and get all your basic material, then join a town cause that is the safest and best place to build :)

Nice guide JBMaes, but there's one thing that's wrong... The mining world gets reset now and again to refresh the ores, the mining world is the jungle world. The jungle survival guide would probably only help in single player.

This is meant to be a singleplayer and multiplayer guide.

You're right, towns are the safest, but if you don't feel comfortable with a stranger in control of your housing, etc etc.

Dragon's personal favorite building locales:

- Mountains (particularly amongst their peaks)
- other interesting mountain-like features, eg. calderas and such
- Ocean surface
- Ocean floor
- In mid-air

Yeah...I choose all the hard places to build. :P

I think the best way to find a place to build a house is to make a shovel and dig flatland...
