Less Lightning!

Seriously! 15 Strikes per second? Thats overkill, not only am i having to race to put out fires in my own structures, but im also lagging net speed, but im also getting significant headaches from this, and im sure someone whos sensitive to flashing lights may come to the server eventually.

Actually there are no fires thankfully. It's only client-side, so you don't have to worry about that.

However I agree that the amount of lightning strikes certainly doesn't seem normal for Minecraft.

Really. I mean, I logged on earlier and it was just awful. Lightning everywhere. I logged back in an hour or two later, still lightning. What....?

The lightning is fine for me, but the thundersound is making the storms unpleasant for me (the differrentiation might sound odd, but unlike the real world in minecraft both seem to get triggered independently from each other).

First of all thunder is unusually loud compared to each other minecraftsound, which makes it neccesary to reduce the volume during each storm (which isn`t that bad, just a little unpleasant). But it also makes my headset go haywire. It`s one of the G35 (logitech) DolbySurround5.1 headsets, each time I use any kind of teleport (tpa, (town)spawn, /jump, ...) during a thunderstorm the dolbysystem tries to change the position of the running thundersounds after the tp, creating a very nasty static (cracking) sound (the sort that makes you worry about your headphone speakers). And with the frequency of storms, the amount of triggered thundersounds and the long duration of this storms it means that can`t tp during these periods and have to turn off the sounds or dolby surround(which otherwise works fine in Minecraft).
So a little less thunderstorms or at least a shorter duration of storms would be fine with fine (you could say a little less english weather ;)).

:clown: I also want to suggest that we could have a little more paradox weather. I think everyone would apprectiate a sudden rainstorm of diamonds or expbottles. ;) :P But not lava, no.

That had to be unpleasant. Is this a glitch in the plugins? I'm not sure, but what I AM sure of, is that I dislike that amount of storms. :(

It`s actually neither a glitch nor a plufin problem.
Minecraft isn`t supporting DolbySurround on it`s own, but most soundcards get enough informations out of the game to support it very good themselfes. It`s just a technical problem with the length of the thundersound and the sudden position change (which also changes the direction of the sound). IT`s easy to avoid it by not tpìng during a storm, but the frequenca and the duration of the storms means that you sometimes can`t use any form of tp for a longer period; or have to turn Dolby off. So shorter and/or fewer thunderstorms would be less annoying (simple rainstorms are fine with me). ;)

Tbh, I actually kinda enjoy the occasional rainstorm in Minecraft, but the storms on the server lately have been getting just a liiiitle bit ridiculous, imo...with "a little" being a fairly extreme understatement.

Storms/Thunder now disabled, until further notice.
