I think chest shops WILL make the game more RPG ish, and therefore am in favor of them. However, is /shop really that big a problem? I think if we are going to do something to it, we should just make only the most rudamentary suplies available, e.g. cobble, sand, dirt, iron, diamond. Instead of can it altogether.

Okay. Heres an idea. Eliminate /shop, just to see if it's doable, just for a time, and encourage people to set up shops, and industries will arise. Also, if you have shops on the docks, and stalls, then it would be a good starter for the roads industry. Also, you would be able to have international and inter-city trade on a truly large scale. And when you have international trade, you have tariffs. And look! You've just built an entire economy! Nations would have their own industry, towns would spring up not only because their mayor wanted to make them, but they would spring up around areas which are rich in resources. Towns would be in forests, and sell wood on a large scale. Nations would claim entire deserts, and sell glass. And it is then that you have competition. And then, wars, based upon land disputes. This could turn into something akin to a Civ game! It would be awesome!
And all because we got rid of shop.

I would rather the server had everything in the /shop or nothing, I don't see the point in having some items and not having some items, With chest shop you can be more RPG with building a wool shop, a brick shop, a tools shop etc instead of having /shop......

But hey Lol, everyone has there own feelings

This is an answer to the post above ^^

It IS doable... We had chest shop before there was a /shop plugin, it worked great, the server only got worse when the /shop was added.

I don't think My prices are that farfetched.

The plants dont cost as much to sell because they are easily farmed.

They cost a bit more to buy because you CAN farm them.

Monster loot isn't worth as much because monsters are... everywhere.

Obby isn't worth much because it can be easily made and super Breaker can give you a lot of it.

Iron and Gold are worth a bit because they are valuable materials, and plus, you shouldn't be able to just buy a lot of them.

Lapis isn't worth much because it's semi-useless and you get a LOT when you find some.

Records don't do much, and very high excavaters can get a lot of them.

And I eat your soul. om nom nom.

left click to sell - right click to buy on chest shops, some chest shops may not want you to sell to them so the sign will only state B for buy if a sign states B AND S that means you can buy and sell to that specific sign.

"/shop" helps new players. I know I died several times before I got a good start. Finally read thru the noob guides and started buying wheat.
If "/shop" is removed, might want to give new players a "kit" with food. Hunger seems to hit hard and quick on this server.
Also, selling dirt and cobblestone gives new players the capital to buy into towns. I'm not sure how a player could get the funds needed if not able to sell to "/shop". Interested to hear thoughts on that ...
BUT, if you want to make ingame economy meaningful, "/shop" needs to be limited ... severely. Raise the prices to BUY items from "/shop" ... to like 50 or 100 nbz per item. With the /shop prices high, folks wanting to purchase will buy from other players instead of from /shop.

I also think flint should be added. For arrows
Cut out the middle man. Put arrows in the shop. I would buy arrows if they were like 1 nb each.

I think you should sell stuff to the shop BUT it gets you only get a tiny bit of money and to buy stuff off of the shop will be 2x the money so you'll have to buy it from other players or have to pay a lot of money so I think they should both stay

I think some of the things that you can sell should go up, also the buying price. Ex.
Enderpearls sell for 1 dollar but you can buy them for 2. Why not make it 5 dollars to buy one and the to sell 2, something like that.
