Classic Video Games, Or Modern Video Games?

I come to you with a mission my fellow noobs, answer me this! Are classic video games better, or modern? Use this topic to discuss this and vote above on what you think is better, remember to keep it friendly, but still with a debate feel. THIS MESSAGE WILL SELF DESTRUCT IN 3 SECONDS

Also, I my choice was classic, since they were challenging but easy to get into, and modern games just don't have the same feel, i guess if you grew up in this generation, with modern games, it might be different, or if you like the graphics, etc. but i will always like the classic games, i play them everyday. And the best part, it's fun to play them over, and over, and over.

Voting Closed, Winner: Classic. Feel free to discuss the topic more.

I voted for classic, just because classic games just have better gameplay in my opinion.
Most modern games are pretty, but easy and short and I miss the feeling I get from older games when you actaully won something.

I say Modern as I didn't really play the types of Pokemon or Legend of Zelda. One of the first games I remember playing is a weird turtle thing on my gameboy :D. After that, all I remember is Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Driver 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City... A 2D Action Man game which was also one of my first games. I remember watching my big brother play a Ghost Recon game, but it looked to complicated so whenever I went on it when he was gone, he'd find himself either dead or lost the next time he logged in :c.

I will have to say Modern, just cause I find the new games more entertaining and pleasing to look at, I am not saying I don't enjoy playing Classic games, cause I still play like Pokemon, and Legend Of Zelda from time to time, but I still can't say I enjoy does classic games more then Modern games, just cause I find the Modern games both longer, and better put together, they have a much better storyline, and much more stuff for you to do, and that is what I like in a game, I don't like games where once you have finished the main story line, you are pretty much done, no side missions, no more stuff to collect, no extra content that you can purchase, and so on, most Classic games are like that, once you are done, you are done, and it is nothing more to do.

Classic games will always be in my heart as the one thing that got me in to gaming at a young age, I spent countless hours playing Classic games, but I still enjoy the new modern games more.

If you are in the age 8 - 12, and you are reading this, go buy Pokemon, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Legend Of Zelda, Super Mario, Mega Man and I could probably note down more, but does games, they are just awesome.

Hmm, ya'lls definitions of classics is modern to me.  :O

I like the older games, like Tempest, Asteroids, Donkey Kong etc. but the RIGHT modern game is better. I like role playing (like MC), God games (like Pharaoh and Sim City) and strategy games (like Galactic Civilizations) but they need more computer power (last 10 years or so) to be really interesting. The true classics are fun, but I just can not "get into" them like I used to. I have several disks with collections of classic games on them that my daughter (12 at the time) was able to beat in days. It's not the age of the game that is important, it is the game play involved. The classic games that we think about being great are the best games that we played. We are forgetting about the 500,000 junk games that were out for each awesome game. A Great game is a Great game whether it is Pong or some game yet to be released.

Tbh it depends. The classics were all really great, ex Mario, Pokémon, LoZ, Nintendo stuff. Modern day gaming is usually too much explosions and not enough story or humor. Some games do make the exception. Like Assassin's Creed. Or Minecraft. Especially Noobscraft. As for the modern day classics, Mario and Legend of Zelda are doing pretty good, but Pokémon is doing terrible.

I like modern video games, like Halo and GTA, more than classic games, but I like some classic games like Pokemon.  I still prefer modern games because they are more interactive.
