Some stuff that's been on my mind..
« on: 11 Apr 2013, 01:36:16 »
(Disclaimer: I don't mean this in any harmful way!)

I have been thinking recently.. I have close to no chance for top anything because I have very little time to play online.

1.) I have school.
2.) I have track practice everyday after school.
3.) By the time I have everything done (School track homework supper etc) It's almost bedtime. Which really leaves not much time at all to play Noobscraft.

Anyone else have this problem? :/

Here's an example. A player that started in August 2012 has had 90+ days of online time. I have been playing since May 2011 and only had 3-4 days online time total. I just find it a bit unfair that some of the players who (No offense) don't have much life outside of Minecraft are getting rewarded for being online. Where those of us who do stuff etc. and have been around a while don't get as many rewards. I'm sorry if I'm being disrespectful or anything like that.. It's just been on my mind and I want to share. If you have anything similar please post. :I

All you need to do is play at least an hour or 2 every day to be in the top overall. Play a little more on the weekends. There are more ways to level up and get in the "top" than just being on the server all the time. You're not alone though. I know a lot of others who are younger and have school and homework and jobs but still make time to be on the server a little at a time. I can't really agree cause I'm 22, I'm not in school currently or have a job so I know what it's like to have a lot of time on my hands but I think if you just play a little every day you'll be okay.

No, I don't really have this concern, just a similar schedule-
1) I work 40+hours a week
2) I'm at the gym 2-3 hours 2-5 times/week
3) I MAKE dinner several times a week for a 5 and 18 year old and wife, then help them with their homework
I'm not in the top 10 for anything, but I haven't ruled it out  :D
I play here instead of watching my required American average 3 hours of TV (take that advertisers)
This is a GAME, nothing more, nothing less. I have fun playing. That is all. 8|

Here are a few things I keep in mind when I play. Vet is worth nothing but VET in front of your name, cool yes, but of no other use. Tokens will get you stuff in V6. I get tokens by leveling up, not by being in the top 10. I like some things better than others-I like to mine and farm. So I focus on those for levels and tokens. Maybe I'll make top 10, maybe I won't, oh well. I don't care about acrobatics, (just means you fall a lot  :)) BUT I know others love this skill. Go for it, I say, fall down some more!Have fun!

And nebih, like you, I mean this in no harmful way.

Thanks Matt, for keeping things in perspective. This is a game. It seems like it's been a little tense around here at Noobytown. People trying their best to get top 10, to level up skills for tokens, to keep their grinding secrets (that's me, I'll admit :/). At face value, the only two things that will pass on to v6 are the tokens and veteranship. My daily to-do list has been like, "(1) Go to work and do work, (2) Maintain Top 10 spot in <certain skill(s)>." But in the end, Vet or no Vet, it is all just a game, a source of entertainment, a great online social environment. Besides tokens and vet, the friendships we make/made will still be there in July. And I find it so easy to miss out on all that while trying to stay ahead of everyone else in Taming.

We need some lightening-up. I need to hand out more of those special Respect Vouchers of mine. ;)

And I'm with GG--an hour or two daily (instead of going for those 6-hour Noobstown sessions) and doing the right things, may get one into the top 100 active. (Probably at least 2-3 hours a day, spread throughout, if shooting for top 10 of a skill). I was gonna add "Keep checking every Friday if it's gonna be a 3x weekend," but then... Perm-2x tomorrow.

Nebs, you've been around for so long, I think if anyone deserves Vet it'd be you. (I remember being in your 1-year party with lots of cake :3). That's just me though, and the criteria for Vet has been laid down. So, all the best to you bud. Hope you have more time in the weekends... or just more time in general.

Like Crafty and Fred said, most of us, have time limitations.  I also have a full time job in addition to a class on Wednesday nights.  Takes me 40 minutes each way to work.  Plus, I have a home to maintain and all the yard work associated with living in Florida, not to mention all the regular chores.  One thing for me is that I don't watch any TV (well hardly), except when I can get a Tottenham game (Come on you Spurs!) from across the pond.  My only point is, you're not alone Nebih.

Full time job here 7-5 everyday 7 days a week 28 days a month, I can still get on the lists. Minutes everyday add up.

I have school and stuff too. I also play other games like BO2 and I am not very "skilled" at MC. So I am working on my arena in creative because I doubt I'll get veteran or even top10. But, like many have said, it's just a game and if my arena works I should have lots to do on Noobstown. I guess, if your not on all the time, you won't get as much use out of veteran as someone who is. I still want veteran though. I see your point.
