Since the Noobscraft community is extremely diverse, I thought it would be interesting to see how word usage may differ from each age group, region, or continent.

Post a unique word, phrase, or slang term which you find interesting and/or funny, as well as post the meaning and usage of it. Please keep it clean, and within the site rules.

EXAMPLE:

Word/Phrase: "Fixin'"
Meaning: Getting ready to do something
Usage: "I'm fixin' to leave to go to the park"

Well i am from mexico and there is ton of slangs, i guess the most common is "we".

Word: "we"
Meaning: dude
Usage:"We, vamos a jugar minecraft en noobstown" "dude,lets play minecraft in noobstown"

There is the (dreaful) scottish slang word "Gajy"
meaning: friend, someone you know
example: Oy, gajjy's aff tae the park, comin en? haha

Phrase: "Dog and pony show"
Meaning (from wiki): "Dog and pony show" is a colloquial term which has come to mean a highly promoted, often over-staged performance, presentation, or event designed to sway or convince opinion for political, or less often, commercial ends. Typically, the term is used in a pejorative sense to connote disdain, jocular lack of appreciation, or distrust of the message being presented or the efforts undertaken to present it
Usage: I've been asked to present at some dog and pony show with headquarters management.

I just love that phrase. We use it at work quite often.

Word: "Bubbler"
Meaning: Water Fountain

Here in ScAAAAAAAAAAAAnsin the model of waterfountain used was called a "Bubbler" and even though we use normal ones now, everyone here still calls it that and people from Chicago or the UP or even Canadaria look at us funny.

No no no no, you only call someone a gajjy if they're a mink, in other words someone who doesn't keep them self hygienically clean. o.o

LOL, mink, that's awesome. And I always just thought it was in reference to a small ferret-like animal.

Word: fixins
Meaning: sides (side dishes)

my personal favorite
word: ya'll
meaning: all of you, you all,
usage: "ya'll come back, yu'hear?"

and I need to have:
word: yu'hear
meaning: Do you hear and comprehend me?
usage: "ya'll come back, yu'hear?"

and all together: (the grand finale)
usage: Hey Ya'll! I'm fixin to fix the fixins! Yu'hear?"
meaning: Hello everybody. I would like to let everybody know that I am preparing to commence the preparation of the side dishes for our evening meal. Would anybody care to assist me?

Word: vardyger

Meaning: used to describe the feeling when you hear someone arriving, and they come like two minutes later to make the exact same sounds.

Usage:
Me: Oh, mom just came home from groceryshopping!

Other person: Well, she's not here

Other person: meh, propably just her vardyger. :I
