Server Announcements / Re: The Next Generation of Noobscraft!« on: 18 Mar 2013, 16:02:51 »
You know max as a guy who helped me get started on this server I have to chime in. I think all is well, update will only fix the major problems I saw when I joined myself. The timing could not be better to boot. With 1.5 we got alot of new toys to play with and while there seems no point in playing until v6 we can use this time to perfect our 1.5 new toys and ways to use them in both design and practicality. A overall reset of all that was is not a bad thing in any regard. I can not count the times I have in single player or my private server had a world reset for a new experience. Those like you and me who "know" minecraft will be back right where we were in almost no time at all and be able to remake what we had better then it was before and perhaps in locations we wish we could have used that had already been taken.
As for the banned members if they are let back in the moderation on this server is second to none and if they deserve a banhammer then they will im sure get it swiftly again. As for friends, good way to find out who are good ones and bad I would say. Also a good way to eliminate casuals who cant handle change leaving more for those of us who want to keep going anew. 3

go download "magic launcher" and in the setup button there is a option to select the .jar file to load minecraft in. Your pc keeps a copy of all the old versions it has installed so you can just select 1.4.x and still play.

Wow, thanks both of you that's some amazing advice. I didn't even realize that that smelting cobble gave xp, or to save the blocks for a fortune pick later.
If I could +rep you on this board I would 6
Noobstown General / The Silk touch« on: 24 Jan 2013, 15:29:58 »
So after about two weeks playing now (I think) I have finally figured good was to make money from mass excavation leveling and selling chiseled sandstone and dirt to making a farm in my homes basement. I used this money to buy some emeralds and have the villagers enchant my diamond pick with Silk touch I.
My questions are as follows.... 1) I know i cannot combine fortune via a anvil, but if I try to add another enchant like unbreaking is there any risk at all of losing silk? 2) now that I have silk touch I went back to a mob spawner in the mining world and used it, did not get the spawner. Is this because its the mining world or is spawners a % chance? 3) What in your personal experience is best to use the silk touch on to keep making $$$$? Thanks for any feedback guys! 7

Market Place / price check and a little help?« on: 14 Jan 2013, 18:52:41 »
I recently enchanted a diamond sword with Sharpness V. I have read Fatnoob's post on setting up a stall but am confused by the item id for an enchanted item as such. So my questions are as follows...
1) what is a good fair price to ask for it? 2) my sign should be as follows first line blank? (is this necessary?) 1 amount I am asking for (no : since not buying back?) item id # for a sharpness V diamond sword 3) which would be what? the data value for an enchanted item confused me) Thanks for any help and sorry if this was covered in another post I couldn't find one. But I would like to understand better and get in on the market part of this server more. 9
Noobstown General / mining world resets?« on: 14 Jan 2013, 14:42:19 »
Just curious as I haven't been on long enough for one. My question is, is the mining world the same and same spawn point in it after a monthly reset or do we get a new location to mine in with new mineshafts and such?

Heya everyone, I'm new to the server. Been on for about three days now, and loving the buy/sell and mining world parts of the game. I'm by no means new to minecraft, I have been playing for a long time and have been part of many survival worlds both single player and with a group of friends via Hamatchi for a private server. I have been farming and selling to build up noobz, I have not bothered building anything yet as the wilderness looks like Griefville or a post apocalyptic wasteland so im just saving up until someone will sell me a plot to build on in a town or something. I'm guessing that's the next logical step...despite my experience with minecraft I have never done a public server before so this part at least is new.
Anyhow, Hello and if you have any advice besides the guide section of the forum like what I should be farming to make good money besides wood please let me know. I finally got some diamonds, made a pick, and farmed a stack of obsidian just to find it doesn't sell as good as wood....that was a little weird.
