Server Announcements / Re: The Next Generation of Noobscraft!
« on: 18 Mar 2013, 03:40:14 »
I'm sorry, but I feel this is punishing the hard working players and shows the administrative neglect on aspects of Noobscraft.com

1. Griefing should be controlled DAILY by the admin/mod team, not server wiped as lazy means to clean it up.

2. New players in a "black hole" ?  I started in Nov '12, I did not complain about being in a "black hole".  I now have a town and over 3M noobz worth of value.

3. Loyal rollover members: They will not ALWAYS jump to the next version, after 5 resets, they will say enough is enough. IE: Don't depend and expect them to be the server's backbone and vet player-base every reset.

-------

FINAL: A hard reset is punishing the current loyal, hardworking player-base to cater to the "down-trotted new players" who feel that reaching certain stats is impossible.

I have donated well to this server (not affecting my opinions), and I will no longer continue to do so because of this reset model which punishes hardworking players.

Hey,

I appreciate your comments and opinion on the reset however you are wrong in the fact you state "administrative neglect", you aim this towards griefing. Since the server opened we have always been strict on griefing and have tried to combat it on several occasions, due to lack of tools and staff compared to the amount of people connecting we were never able to solve all of the problems.

We recently not that long ago introduced the /grief system, this had rapidly reduced the amount of active griefing to our members, but still each day the player would be griefed and it's the task of having to deal with an issue someone else has caused which is most annoying to the user. We could add these things on our current world and everything would be perfect, well... not really, the world is a huge mess (take a look at the live map) this would take a long time to clean up. No system in the world is going to fix the damage which has already been done to the world.

Only this...the concept of V6 states clearly the ability we now have to combat these issues and make a regenerative natural world that will ALWAYS feel new, therefore will last for a very, very long time. Of course you are unhappy about the lose of digits and social wealth that comes with your account but if you are able to look past that and look at the people around you, you'll see a great community. So, let's move on and forward to a better solution for the server. We are driven by the passion of our server, we want to make this the best Minecraft experience you can possibly have, if you do choose to stay with us throughout this horrible time then I'll be there to high five you when you reach those all important goals on the new version.

Want anymore information on the changes? PM me!

Can I get a high-five too?!?   :D

All good things have must come to an end sometime.  I am really excited for Version 6 of Noobscraft and can't wait for it's release.  A new beginning is what all us "Noob-iians" need.  Keep up the great work Fatnoob and all other admin/mods.

Competitions & Events / Re: Server Event Schedule
« on: 30 Jan 2013, 00:34:40 »
Saturday/Sunday would work best for those of us living in the United States.  Fridays tend to be bad for us due to those of us who work or those who have school (or both).

Might I suggest possibly changing the times during certain weekly events to include the Aussies as well  :D.  They seem to get the short end of the event deals all the time and we need to push some love their way once and awhile...just a little...not too much love though  :P

More packages have been placed out into the world.  Every day I will add a few more.  Some will be near towns, and they can be found as far out as the borders in some cases.  The more you explore the more items you will find!

Happy Hunting and as always Happy Holidays to you all.

Noobstown General / THE GREAT CHRISTMAS HUNT 2012
« on: 25 Nov 2012, 23:54:50 »
Well the Holiday Season is upon us once again.  Time to put on those hiking boots and dust off that adventure pack.  This man-made event will last from Nov. 26, 2012 thru December 15th, 2012 (10 days before Christmas).  Packages will be placed throughout the entire map of Noobstown.  This includes out to the edge borders.  They will NOT be placed in the Mining, Nether, or End worlds.  Packages will contain a secret chest inside.  If you find a package you may take everything you find inside, (YES! Even the wool package itself).   An example of what the packages look like can be found at Trader_Jorvin's shop in Oakvale (next to the Oakvale Zoo).  The closer it gets to December 15th, 2012 the more packages that will be available to find out in the world.  Items inside the chests include (but are not limited to): Iron, Gold, Diamonds, Emerald, Tools, Armor, Coal, etc.  In addition, there is no CAP to how many packages you can find.  If you find 100 of them than you get to keep everything you found.  I hope you enjoy this little man-made event.   I wish all of you a great holiday season this year.  Let the hunt begin!

Age:  26

How many hours per day:  Weekdays (3-4 hours), Weekends (4-10 hours)

Why you want this role:  I've noticed a lot of times on the server there have been hours where there was not at least 1 mod on, or at times there is 1 mod on and that person gets slammed with grief reports and other matters from the residents.  Since I am on a decent amount of hours on the weekdays & weekends I figured I could fill the gap for when we have a low mod count on the server.  In addition, I'm a pretty easy going and friendly guy.  Always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needs it.  Maturity is a big trait one needs to have when moderating a server and I definitely have that.  I do not choose sides when it comes to rules of the server.  If anyone breaks a rule (even if an in-game friend) they should be punishable for it.  In my mind griefing is griefing.  As our Mother's would always say, "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time..."  (Well my Mother at least).

Past experience:  I was an OP for 5-6 months for a friends server about a year ago.  I also would bring up my private server when his server was down so people had a place to get their minecraft fix for an hour or two while his was being maintained.  That server ended when the funds stopped coming in to support the server.

Time Zone:  Central (U.S.)

Additional Information:  I rule with an Obsidian Fist

**Update** (as of 7/7/12)

I'm sorry to say the Darkgoat, Inc. team has respectfully removed themselves from the building project due to unforeseen circumstances .

With that said, they are releasing all 100% of the rights to this build.  What does that mean?  It means any of you who wish to take on this project are gladly encouraged too.

You can continue talks on this forum page with other community members and work together to make this project become a reality.

We thank you for your support here at Darkgoat, Inc and are sorry for any inconvenience.

If you have any questions, please direct them to Trader_Jorvin.

Thank You

What on earth is Darkgoat, Inc? Also, how do the admins know your not just someone whos trying to trick them or something.

And how would building a business facility be tricking an admin?  Darkgoat, Inc. is the team behind building the facility and making sure everything is in working order before opening it to the public for office space purchases.  People can make any business they wish.  This is a way for people to go to one central location to find different professions that meet their needs (like how the marketplace works at the spawn).  Some individuals don't want to sell items, and that's ok.  Some people love to work with redstone, so maybe they would want to open up a redstone store where people can buy different redstone supplies or ask for redstone help if they aren't familiar with it.  Maybe someone loves to sheer sheep?  They can open up a wool shop and sell many colors to people who need the wool.  Maybe you love to explore?  You can open a travel agency and take people on tours around the server.  Maybe run into abandoned towns, or new places no one has ventured to before?  Imagination is the key here.  There are no tricks here.

Thanks

Trader Jorvin

As we know each other pretty well, and you are a part of my town alrady, I think you might be interested in taking the whole market district within oakvale, and making this business you are talking about a reality.

Emperor_Myrf already has a redstone shop there, I am going to start building the wood shop today, and Mitch_182 already has a wool shop there.  With you, you have a general goods store, I have a archery range there, a zoo, a homeless shelter, and a repairing shop.  We could simply put in your ideas to what has already been built, and you would be in charge of it.

If that is interesting to you at all, message me back on this forum.

Thanks,

Fish_james

Fish_James,

Sounds good to me.  We can discuss the project details in private.

About how much will one of these spaces cost? And how big will they be?

Office space and prices have yet to be determined.  Still waiting to find land suitable to build the facility on.  Darkgoat, Inc. has inquired for land close to a spawn point to make traveling to/from the facility easier.

We hope to have the building phase begin on or before July 4, 2012.  Land is also being surveyed out in the "wilderness" but Darkgoat, Inc. is hesitant to build out there due to large amount of griefing.  One of their top priorities is the security of the facility to griefing.  With that said, as always, any griefing that does occur will have to be reported to a moderator or admin of the server.  Darkgoat, Inc. is not responsible for any griefing that may occur if the facility is built in the wilderness.

Thank You

Darkgoat, Inc. would like to thank all of you who have shown interest in this project.  They hope this project can become a reality soon in the Noobstown community.  Currently a designated area is still being decided upon.  No location has been deemed "appropriate" as of yet.  In addition, Darkgoat, Inc. would like the approval of head server admin Fatnoob before any building can commence (simple *thumbs up* in the comment section suffices).

Please keep in mind the business suggestions were just that..."suggestions"...once you purchase the office space you can make any type of business your imagination can come up with.

As always updates on this project will be posted to this thread and any questions should be directed towards Trader_Jorvin.

Thanks you
