There's several plugins out there for the storage of EXP.
My personal favorite allows you store small amounts of EXP in bottles (bottle o' enchanting) and 30 levels of EXP into buckets (buckets o' enchanting).
This allows for EXP to be traded and such, and people already try to sell 30 levels of exp so it'd be nice if they could do it in item form.
There's also mods that allow you to store as much exp as you want into a bookshelf, it's only for personal use not trading but it's also nice.

On the server list it's showing 38 people in the server for me, but not letting me log in.

Note: Those who do not log in for a few weeks without notifying me of their situation are in risk of losing their plots.
If the plots actually have something nice built on them, I probably won't give them up. But I'm sick of seeing people make lame cobble huts and then leave the server, so I will reclaim the land if you don't develop it.

I like this concept, not just because of my high levels.
Different people like to do different things skill-wise and really unless you like digging and mining like I do, you're not gonna make all that much money. Especially if you're into combat skills, the cash rates on enemy mobs is very low and the stuff they drop isn't very valuable on auction.
I still think more options in /shop is still a good idea, but since that was vetoed this leveling up mcmmo skills thing could be a nice alternative.

So most of us town owners have lost a lot of town plots to the glitch that happens with server shutdowns. I know personally I've lost about 60 or so plots total.
If plots were temporarily free we could claim land without fear of wasting our money.
Alternatively, we could be compensated for our lost land.

How about charcoal if not logs?
You have to go through effort to make logs into that, and it can't even be combined to make a building block like regular coal.

Placing down smooth stone to hit it with a pickaxe to turn it into cobble seems like a very pointless endeavor. Smooth stone is one of the things people haven't ravaged in the mining world yet, it's abundant and far easier to just walk a straight line sucking it up.
I'm in the same boat as the OP, my enchanted picks keep giving me silk touch and I just throw them on the auction house because I can't sell smooth stone to the shop so they're more in the way than anything else.

I'd like to see a town rank added to allow certain members of the town to recruit, but not necessarily give them the power to go and create and destroy on anyone else's properties.

So I have an abundance of certain things, and am willing to let them go at what I find reasonable prices. You can find most this stuff at /t spawn Gotham at a slightly higher price, but whisper me and I'll do hand to hand trades a little cheaper.
Sugarcane: 100 a stack.
Iron: 2,000 a stack.
Gold: 2,500 a stack.
Redstone Blocks: 500 a stack.
Bones: 500 a stack.
Gunpowder: 500 a stack.
Diamonds: 950 each.
Emeralds: 1,000 each.
Spruce Logs: 500 a stack, 5k for 20 stacks.
Spruce Saplings: 500 a stack.
Brown Mushrooms: 500 a stack.
Red Mushrooms: 500 a stack.
Cocoa: 500 a stack.
Charcoal: 200 a stack.
Coal Blocks: 2000 a stack.
Deals can be made for bulk orders.
Many of these items can be found at my chest shop, near /t spawn gotham
